This was great . 2 singers who were both good and evenly matched , a nice energy to the song , Gretar and the group supporting well on the instruments .

I was today years old when I realized Nigel Wright is using an Icelandic flag instead of a baton.

Oh wow - I just realised. I don’t think Nigel Wright used a British flag for the UK’s entry in Millstreet the following year but I know that Don Airey used a British flag when conducting the winners’ reprise in Dublin in 1997.

@@JeSuisRene He did not. Didn't even use a baton, the total savage. Went full Stokowski. And yeah, I noticed - sadly you can only just barely see Don leading the orchestra for a split second during the reprise ('97 in general was disappointing in how little it showed off the orchestra. Maybe they're overcompensating for how often they showed them in '93?)

@@SuperJNG18 Well, I hope Nigel Wright didn’t use hand puppets as this Marc Sorretino for Switzerland. In 1994 they didn’t show off the orchestra either. Though they showed it off a lot in 1993 and 1995.

@@SuperJNG18 However, coincidentally, the ESC where they didn’t show off the orchestra (1994 and 1997) were two years where the stage was designed by the same person. Coincidentally, the 1993 and 1995 stages were also designed by the same person.

@@JeSuisRene He looked relatively competent. He's done work with Andrew Lloyd Weber so I figure he's alright at his job. And '95 was odd because they showed the orchestra off a good deal, but they were also in pitch darkness!
