Neighbours (Episode 538) 

The classic neighbours episodes are the best. Love Mrs Mangel and Mrs Ramsey Madge arguments. They were both known not to like each other on the street.

God Neighbours was great back then. Mrs Mangel was a bit of a wuss, Madge hardly struck her. Had the poisonous old bag aggravated me like that, she'd have got a one hell of a hiding, I'm a man. Vivian Gray, you were great. How about a comeback? We're not all simpletons that are unable to realise that you were acting, and very brilliant & credible acting at that.

They were still there when I started watching it, but Scott and Charlene were already married. Mrs Mangel was superb!

where have all the old episodes gone? i watched up to episode 540 and then they dissapeared.

I loved Nell with a passion. She was so pretty, with her dark curly hair, big dark eyes and her lovely smile. My darling Nell has a heart attack following that horrendous row with Madge Ramsay and is rushed to hospital. All my love and best wishes for a speedy recovery, Nell sweetheart! xxx

It was so strange seeing this again. This scene was my first ever memory of Neighbours! Have been hooked since. It was so much better in those days though.

@bwstripessam To be fair, you did have an 18 month head start. Now we're only like a month or two behind! I remember in Primary School everyone pester every Aussie substitue teacher for spoilers (even far back as Year 1 lol) as Neighbours was directly on after CBBC.

@MeBenHalpin Yeah. I'm talking '89 in Aussie terms. We, the UK were CHRONICALLY behind here back then until we caught up in '99 then by 2000 we were only a month behind. Talking of Scott and enry, Henry got a fantastic exit (Him, Madge and Brownyn crying buckets) whereas Scott basically went off back home to Charlene and was never seen again even though it looked like he would be back but we knowing Jason Donovan being over here in 1990, that wasn't gonna happen!

Mrs Mangel owned and lived in No 32. After Mrs Mangel left Ramsay Street she sold the house to Helen Daniels who rented it out to various people over the years. In todays show Lucas Fitzgerald owns the house and lives there.

The Mrs Mangel and Harold angle is quite a good one. They have quite a good rapport.

Oh wow!! Watching this is a real blast from the past....I think I remember seeing this actual episode when it was originally aired on BBC 1 ....a really long time ago when I was a toddler! (Its one of my earliest memories of Neigh ours...ever!) Absolutely amazing how I've randomly found this after almost 35 years...thanks!!
