The finale did hit all the right emotional spots. Most of us already knew (going into this) that Kylie and Jason's appearance would amount to no more than a cameo but it was great to see them once more. The real MVP of the finale was Guy Pearce who played a major role and had the central spotlight. Given that he could have easily turned up his nose and declined to participate, he not only accepted but stepped up and delivered. His chemistry with Annie Jones was still there given it's been more than 30 years since these two shared the screen together. The core four (Scott, Charlene, Mike and Jane) all back together at long last. Farewell Neighbours and thanks for all the memories.......
As much as i loved scott and charlene returning i couldn't wait aswell to also see mike and jane bumping into one another.., finally the fantastic four all reunited..😁
I just want to say how well the Neighbours crew edited and put this all together. We all know that Jason and Kylie were there on a different day to Guy Pearce, but this is so well done that you wouldn't know from watching it!
Dont get me wrong it was great to see them again after all these years, but a lot of hype for pretty much nothing. The real stars of the final episode were Guy Pierce and Annie Jones.
Agreed. Then again, Kylie has always struck me as odd, constantly snubbing the show for so many, many years, never wanting to return in any capacity. Despite it being the show that made her so very famous in so many countries. And then we're supposed to be so blown away by her finally deciding to make a very brief appearance at what we thought was the end. Nup, I agree, Mike and Jane made it more special for me, personally.
I remember hearing Jason saying before the finale for fans to not expect too much, but after 30 years away and everyone wanting them to comeback we really wanted more than what we got. But I’m really glad Mike and Jane reunited also wanted S&C to have a good catch up with Shane, Mike, Jane, Harold and Paul plus meet Karl, Susan & Toadie. Could’ve been an even better finale
Her mechanics overalls/dungarees were khaki coloured. Not denim. And most people wouldn't necessarily associate her being only in overalls. She probably wore her school uniform for longer.
@@jazmorrison9030 they appeared to be joining the party from the balcony but I believe Kylie and Jason were only available for a limited time and filmed a couple of short scenes with Jane, Paul and Harold.
Maybe they could only afford to book her for a non-speaking part and had to keep her word count below a certain threshold? Like you, I counted four plus an extremely breathy 'Jane!'...
Very good to see Scott, Charlene, Mike, Jane, Paul and Harold all together again. Would have been even better if Clive and Des were able to be in one of the scenes.
You could tell that Guy Pearce and Kylie weren't in a scene together. On the balcony, Jane has a watch on with Mike, but without him there's no watch. The continuity person must of had the day off.
Technically five - Home Sweet Home, Jane and Harold! They clearly weren't able to hang around long enough to give a real life hug to Guy Pearce/Mike - so Jason/Scott had to pretend he saw him?!
She was more than likely contracted to 3 words 'home sweet home' and the other 2 words we heard 'Jane' and 'Harold' were dubbed in. Let's remember Kylie is worth a bomb and soaps are no where near her platform. If they don't cough up for her to speak then, she can't speak as it will affect her worth. It's a business after all. Im sure she'd have loved to voluntary say lots of things but 'the business' doesn't allow it. Doing so could tarnish her brand. Sad it's likes that but.
Did Scott ever meet Glen, if you take the finale when Paul gestured to Terese that he was going up to the balcony from the finale you would haven't thought so.
She probably came back on condition she had limited lines. She hasn’t acted in years and it would have felt daunting and would have worried about people judging her acting. Plus yes depending on her contract it could have very expensive. I think more likely just daunted and nervous so asked for minimal lines
Well neither of them were in it. Tom Oliver aka Lou is ill but they did give him a nod. The name of the conveyor on Terese's paperwork is T. Oliver. Craig McLachlan wasn't allowed to appear. He claims it is because of the sexual abuse allegations (that he was cleared of in court). He may be right as there was not one mention of Henry or a single flashback with him in it.
@@lindab424 His case was only dismissed, simply because he could use the old law of acting like he had no knowledge of the 4 other women not consenting to all of his crap. Thankfully, can't get away with that crap anymore. Can't go forcefully kissing and rubbing up on others, etc, and then later try to use the excuse that you're just having a laugh or trying to stay in character or so on.
I’m excited and glad that Neighbours is returning. It doesn’t feel real. But the final month with all the guest returns of characters from the past and ESPECIALLY Kylie and Jason’s return, although it was very brief, has been ruined now. What was the point of it all just for it to be resurrected 3 or 4 months later. If or when it ends again the future what are they going to do to celebrate it? They could have done all, or something similar for the 40th, if it’s still around in 2025
Well, it wasn't as if anyone, not even the people behind Neighbours (prodcuers, etc), knew that anyone else would be interested in picking up the show and continuing on with it. That couldn't be helped. Besides, it's probably the only time we would ever get to see Kylie back in Erinsborough. Considering how many years she's been snubbing the show every time they ask her to make any kind of return appearance in the show over so many, many years.
Kylie and Jason were. Along with Annie Jones. it was Guy Pearce that was apparently filmed at a different time and edited into the shots to look like he's with the other 3.
It would have been great to have Lucy and Shane up on that balcony too...and maybe even Madge's ghost in the background watching over them all from afar...pity It was such a dull day too.
Good day beuatiful super super good day ❤️❤️🙌🙌 Super beuatiful vere Nice day toot love yuo toot Super gôod day ❤️😍❤️🙌😢😢😢😢😢 supér tankes for super Jason Donovan Kylie Minogue supér vere Nice day ❤️🙌❤️

Great, but OBVIOUSLY, guy pearce was NEVER there at the same time as scott and Charlene..... that's VERY DISAPPOINTING to a.true ORIGINAL Neighbours fan
Kylie seems to have become nearly mute in the last 30 years. I think that she was too ashamed to speak in the old ocker accent in case it diminished here already diminished career. A lot of young people in the UK think of Kylie in that same way that kids thought of Vera Lynn in the 1980s - something from the ancient past with nothing to do with their generation.
Agreed. Kylie has snubbed Australia so much since she became big in the UK. While she very quickly bunged on an English accent and did any old crap for a quid on tv in the UK. Even with the show that actually made her famous in the first place, in so many countries, she has long thought she was too good for. Knocking back so many offers to appear on Neighbours over the years. And yet, whenever Kylie does make a very rare appearance on Australian tv now, so many wet themselves over it, like it's apparently so great. Pffttt. She's clearly forgotten where she came from and has an over-inflated ego.
