Welcome back to Toiletable.com, the ultimate review guide for toilets and accessories.
We’ve all been there. As you try to flush the toilet, you quickly realize the rising water level. Horrified, you have to reach for the plunger and give it your all. You only have a few seconds to avoid an overflow - that’s where the type of plunger you use can make all the difference.
When you think of a plunger, the first thing that probably comes to mind is the cup model. Cup plungers have a single rubber cup on the end of their handle and work best for sinks.
For toilets, you’ll need a heavier-duty model that comes with greater suction power. The most popular options are the flange and the accordion. Flange plungers look similar to the cup model, but have a second cup layer that has to be extended when in use. The second layer is designed for standard toilet drains. Flange models can also be used for tubs and sinks.
The accordion model looks just like the name suggests. With multiple folds and a small cup on the bottom, the accordion plunger is ideal for more challenging clogs. Accordion models are specifically designed for toilets. Though they can be a bit more difficult to use, these plungers provide stronger suction than their flange counterpart by creating a tighter seal over the drain.
When choosing the right model for you, there are a few things to take into consideration, such as size, price, and design. Smaller plungers are great for sinks while larger plungers are easier to pump toilets with.
Plunger prices vary, but it’s easy to find an affordable plunger set that also comes with a brush and organizational caddy. As for the design, make sure to find a plunger type that both best fits your needs and that you’re comfortable using.
Working with more complex plunger types may be intimidating, but after a few tries, you’ll quickly get the hang of it. A good plunger can go a long way - and help you out even in the trickiest bathroom situations.
We hope you enjoy our plunger review below. Thank you again for choosing Toiletable.com for all your plunger and toilet needs.
