@@AustraliaisupsidedownDefinitely not before. It's like saying Zimbabwe sees US as a competitor in high tech😂 Even now China is still mostly playing catching up game. There is no pressure on Chinese side. Only US is trying to scare their citizens with "national security" "out compete by China" propaganda. That worked on Japanese products in the 80s and 90s. Now to compete with China, US is bringing semiconductor back to Japan. Losing focus, is what I describe US mentality

Why do we look to the past as an answer to our future or current problems to say they will reoccur. It is very negative to say that we would essentially allow Manhatten to become Machu Pichu. We can look at cities that are essential to trade and impose upon a significant, stable area of the Earth and predict they may last in a different state of resolve, like Cairo, Istanbul and others.

If the Chinese put a Moon Base up there, they better have a KILLER Drive-Thru Chinese Buffet so that wandering American Astronauts can pull up in their Moon Rovers for some Kung Pao Moon Chicken or some Jade Moon Rabbit Surprise! In return, the Chinese Lunar Taikonauts can eat at our McDonald’s that will be in our MoonBase Food Court! Now that’s the type of cooperation we need on the Moon! Let’s go! Boots on the Moon!
@xiaolvwuming6199
@xiaolvwuming6199 Год назад
Some late-night thoughts after watching this video, let's talk about this issue: NASA Administrator claims not to let China land on the moon under the guise of scientific research NASA Administrator complains that China does not actively propose cooperation In fact, these topics cannot be separated from one fact, that is, since China's rapid rise in the space field, the United States has no way to limit China. In addition, Russia's fall to a space taxi has also been seen by China. Here, I still don't want to talk about the space cooperation between the United States and Russia. I hope more Russians will talk about it, and they will talk more deeply. I will list some materials to talk about how the United States has done similar things to Huawei in order to stop China's progress. Americans really think that the space field in China will die if they close the door... The U.S. blockade against China in space can be traced back to a report (Cox Report) (Wolf Act) With the introduction of this report and this clause as a sign, the United States unilaterally closed the door to space cooperation between China and the United States, and the strategic containment of China in space has become all-round and normalized. In March 2021, the National Intelligence Council (NIC) of the United States published a report on "Global Trends", pointing out that China will take a space development path independent of the United States and Europe, and become the most important space strategic competitor of the United States by 2040. In March 2022, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) released its annual threat assessment report, further pointing out that China is moving towards the goal of becoming a world space leader and will catch up with or surpass the United States by 2045; by 2030, China's multiple space technologies will reach world-class levels, becoming a global competitor of the United States. So is China's progress too fast? Probably not. Because, since 2014, Russia has gradually strengthened its space cooperation with China. With the help of a certain country (guess which country?), Russia has gradually lifted many restrictions on space cooperation with China since 2014. However, a certain country is in a hurry, stepping on the accelerator and forcing Russia to speed up its cooperation with China. LOL For example, after the United States withdrew from the "Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty" in 2019, President Putin said that he would help China build a ballistic missile early warning system and strengthen cooperation with China in the fields of rocket engines, space planes, lunar and deep space exploration, satellite navigation, and communication. I thought it was just talk and wouldn't really happen, but unfortunately, it really accelerated China's development. After the outbreak of the Russo-Ukrainian conflict, Russia actively or passively abandoned a series of international contracts, including rocket engines and satellite launches, and its space commercial income sharply declined. In 2022, the loss of the Russian National Space Group exceeded 50 billion rubles, an increase of 19 billion rubles compared to 2021. The decline in Russia's space commercial income has aggravated its financial burden, directly affecting the development of the aerospace industry and the implementation of space programs. In 2014, when Russia formulated the "2016-2025 Russian Federation Space Program", it promised to allocate 2 trillion rubles. Due to the decline in oil prices and the depreciation of the ruble, only 1.4 trillion rubles were allocated when the space program was launched in 2016, which led to the postponement of major projects such as lunar exploration, the cancellation of plans to build two modules for the orbital space station and launch the "Union-MS" spacecraft, the reduction of satellite numbers from 95 to 70, and the reduction of space launches from 185 to 150. By the end of 2021, Russia had only completed 55% of the content of the "2016-2025 Russian Federation Space Program" and 30% of the aerospace infrastructure renovation goals. In this year, in April 2021, China and Russia issued a "Joint Statement of the China National Space Administration and the Russian National Space Group Corporation on Cooperation in the Construction of the International Lunar Research Station", indicating that the strategic partnership between the two sides has extended to the space field. Russia can only cooperate, deepen cooperation with China, and must speed up cooperation with China In July 2022, Borisov's first report submitted to President Putin assessed the situation of Russia's aerospace industry development as "difficult." The time left for Russia's space business is also relatively urgent. Just three months ago, in March 2023, the "Joint Statement of the People's Republic of China and the Russian Federation on Deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Cooperation in the New Era" was released. So, in my opinion, the remarks of the NASA Administrator are quite ridiculous. The United States is digging holes for Russia every day and putting soil under China's feet. Even if Russia is a fool, it knows that it must hold China's hand and not let go. In the 2024 U.S. fiscal year budget, the space budget was once again reduced to 24 billion U.S. dollars, which is already equivalent to that of 2022. Given the current economic situation in the United States, NASA Administrator Bill Nelson is still shouting that the reduction in the space budget may have a "devastating and irreversible" impact on space programs and weaken the United States' position as a global space leader. But he forgot how the United States led in the space cooperation process In 2000, the U.S. Congress enacted the "Iran Non-Proliferation Act", which prohibits any U.S. government agency from purchasing space goods and services from Russia. After Russia guaranteed to strengthen export controls, in October 2005, the U.S. Congress passed an amendment to the "Iran Non-Proliferation Act", lifting restrictions on the purchase of Russian space goods and services. A gentleman's revenge is not too late after ten years. Hasn't the United States been suppressing Russia since 2014? OK, Russia has since increased its space cooperation with Iran. In July 2022, Russia and Iran signed a space cooperation agreement, using the "Union" carrier rocket to launch Iranian satellites. In August, the Russian "Union-2.1b" carrier rocket successfully sent the Iranian "Khayyam" remote sensing satellite into orbit. In December, Russia and Iran signed a space cooperation memorandum to carry out cooperation in the fields of remote sensing and communication satellite design and manufacturing and build space infrastructure for Iran. Russia-Iran space cooperation helps to improve Iran's space technology and missile launch capabilities, as well as long-range nuclear strike capabilities.
Isn't the United States trying to prevent Iran from acquiring ballistic missile technology? Why is this happening? I think the United States should ask itself. Was it someone who wanted to share the cost of implementing the space program with allies and commercial space companies? I admit, the idea is very beautiful, but look at the UK, and then look at France... Oh well, forget it... who will fill the gap after Russia's withdrawal? India says it's them, and South Korea says the universe is theirs! Meanwhile, China is wooing Russia, and Russia is wooing Iran...
So, is the NASA director worried? It should be useless. Actually, thinking about it, the United States is really interesting. Withdrawing from arms control treaties such as the "Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty" and the "Open Skies Treaty" in succession. Opposing the conclusion of legally binding international agreements. Accelerating the construction of space military forces and forming a space military alliance. It has exacerbated space governance issues and worsened the space security environment.
In August 2022, Russia's First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov (Андрей Белоусов) At the "Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons Treaty" (NPT) Review Conference, he stressed: "Do not rule out the United States using the Russia-Ukraine conflict as an excuse to speed up the deployment of weapons in space." Please remember that "for nearly 15 years, the United States has refused to discuss any legally binding international agreements." For 15 years, the NASA director knew these premises and should not have continued if he had any shame. Because this is to serve space hegemony. I don't look down on American aerospace, and what I'm talking about is public facts. The House of Everything is open to discussion, not debate, and these things are laid out for everyone to see. What qualifications does NASA have to accuse China? The Chinese people have worked hard and steadily step by step to achieve today's achievements and become a major aerospace power through their own efforts.

As much as the US likes to believe that it is a trend setter, reality tells a different story. The US was pushed by the then Soviet Union in the space race. The Sputnik I was the first satellite orbiting earth, and sent out that metallic music to our radio. Not to be outdone, the US devoted much efforts and resources to copy the Soviets. Then the manned space flights were but a tit-for-tat competition between the Soviet Union and the US. JFK issued the edict "to land the first humans on the moon" was of course was an attempt to beat the Soviets to the game. When The Soviets dropped out of the space race, and the US had successfully landed humans on the moon, the US got the bragging rights, and the moon mission was put into deep freezer....until now !!! Until now? But why? Because there is a wannabe space pioneer by the name China. China came from a very low base, to the stage that it is almost matching the US. Well, "matching the US" is not quite correct either because while the US is winding down its space station, China is just getting warming up.China's aspirations to the moon is even more ambitious than the US. That is why the moon mission is taken out of the deep freezer now. Leader or follower? You be the judge. Ultimately, who gets the tangible results is what mattered most.

I just checked, the US is going to be a renter on SpaceX Space Station. Perhaps it is Elon Musk who has the bragging rights, and not the US government?

US exploration would happen even if the Soviets did not do it first, the same way Soviet would go nuclear even if the US did not do it first. Back to space race, Soviet may have sent the first satellite and man in space but the US sent the first animal in space.

Do you really believe that in 1960s, with those primitive vacuum tubes and mechanical switches, we managed to have REAL TIME ZOOM Video Conference among Moon Surface, Moon Orbit and Earth? Mind you, it is REAL TIME. And do you actually believe that, with such a heavy life supporting capsule, we managed to ROCKET it back to 300 miles high up from Moon Surface to Moon Orbit? Mind you, the moon gravity is still 1/6 of earth. It takes thousands of land crew to support the Earth Launch, with massive rocket fuels. But on Moon Surface, it is all automated and just little bit of compact fuel will do the trick. That is alien technology. LOL 😁😁🤣🤣

The debt ceiling doesn't work because it isn't being used for its intended purpose. The debt ceiling was created under the Second Liberty Bond Act of 1917 and is also known as the debt limit or statutory debt limit. It was created by congress during World War I to make the federal government fiscally responsible and to stem spending. It can be looked at as a spending cap. So why is our Government/President spending more than the cap established by the debt ceiling? The debt ceiling is the maximum amount that the U.S. government can borrow by issuing bonds. The congress is the only government body that can increase it. The thing is, Presidents are allowed to overspend thus forcing congresses hands. It has become, probably always has been, a political policy negotiation tool for both sides. At the end of Trump's administration our national debt as of December 31, 2019 was 23.20T. As of May 30, 2023 Under Biden our national debt currently stands at $31.4 trillion. That's approximately an 8 trillion dollars increase in his first two and a half years in office. Surly Biden knew that his spending spree would surpass the debt ceiling. Now congress is faced with the question of raising the debt ceiling and is being used to push both sides political agenda at the People's expense. Politician's, bah humbug.

If the US can't make it to the moon now, how did it do it in the 60s? Is there anything discussing this. It could lay to rest some skepticism. I would just like to know how something that was done decades ago, with less technology, cannot be accomplished today. Hey. I am going to ask ChatGPT, but all that hallucination stuff is making me very circumspect about anything I hear from the AI.
@tasorodri
@tasorodri 7 месяцев назад
Basically its political will. Going to the moon is extremely expensive and there's not much reason to go there, without the public support behind it. Apart from that, all the technology, know how, supply chains, computers... From the 60s are basically non-functioning today, you cannot just take the old designs and build them, first because there's no longer factories that produce them, and second because you're not pushing the boundaries of the technology, what you learn by building a rocket is then used to subsequent missions, so it doesn't make sense to revert to a obsolete technology. That means that the mission has to be designed from the start, which is currently happening.
