I'm not a drummer, but Neil was still a major influence in my musicianship as a guitarist, along with Geddy and of course, Alex. But for as amazing as he is on drums, nothing speaks to me more, or says more about him as a person than his lyrics. I respect and remember him more for writing lyrics that were literally life saving, and life changing, than I do his drumming. I think that's something too many Rush fans, and far too many drummers overlook when they think about him.
Neil Peart was the biggest influence on my life other than family. I was lucky enough to see Rush live 15 times and I only wish I could see them one more time.👍🤘🏻🔥🎧
I'm no musician whatsoever, but Neil was so hypnotic to listen to and watch for me since 1987 when I discovered Rush in 10th grade. Always been my favorite group and Neil my favorite musician. ❤
If you have not seen/reacted to Neil Peart at the Buddy Rich Memorial, you should. During Neil's solo the brass section behind him watched in awe a delight at Neil's performance. They (brass section) had big smiles on their faces watching Neil go off.
I saw Rush live many times over the decades, a truly outstanding trio of musicians. Neil will go down as one of the greatest drummers of all time alongside Keith Moon and John Bonham... RIP Neil, as Gary just said, a true master of his craft.. as always... love from Amsterdam.
So agree. Moon was a mad man with so much energy and his wild style still floors me to this day when I watch anything with him playing. Bonham... I mean. Come on. People literally had to use 2 Bass drums and 2 feet to do what he did with one. His 4 Stick performance is mind leveling and then there's just everything else he did. My biggest regret in life truly is not taking Wyatt to see RUSH because I felt he was to young at the time. Major Dad Fail.... LOL
@@PositiveCrunch One of my eldest sons first ever gigs was Rush live at the Rainbow theatre in London in the 70s, I think he was about 6 at the time. He loved them.. Sorry Wyatt missed out on them. On my sons memorabilia wall he still has a tour T.Shirt signed by Geddy, Neil, and Alex when I managed to get him backstage at their Hammersmith Odeon concert in the early 80s. Great memories for the boy.
I’m with you…….. I could watch this guy & those other 2 guys play all day. As a matter of fact I do it often. I miss them so much. It’s been over 6 years since I have seen them play live & it’s been tough. Even tougher than those few years between Test For Echo and Vapor Trails. This time they’re gone for good. KEEP RUSHIN’ PEOPLE!!! 🤘🤘🤘
If you love the drum cam views, check out this one of Subdivisions, if you haven’t seen it yet. Cheers! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-T9-bh9kmpWk.html
I caught a snipet of it on their Tik Tok page. I'm not sure if Wyatt has yet, I can't wait for his return to doing videos. He's got alot going on with school and his mothers health. We haven't chatted up on any new music in the past few days, So I'm not sure he has. What I did hear, Wow!!! I've been working on a Music video for a client the past few weeks, so I am behind... Luckily I try to shoot RU-vid a few weeks ahead. It's a grind. Have a great weekend. Can't wait to hear it in full. Also looking forward to Tommy's Cover of Over the hill's and far away....
