Jill, I saw Neil who was my favorite for the first time when I was 16(with CS&N) and now I am 65 too and I am going tomorrow to see him again and my house # is 8711 - are there enough similarities there?

You are so right. I have loved Neil Young & every band he played with since 1970. Since then he alone put out a bunch of albums. Then he & CH put out several. So much to pick from BUT he definitely picked his fans favorites on this tour. I am so grateful he is touring on the east coast. Seeing him was on my bucket list & we are going in 2 days!!!

He's not doing it to appease fans though, if he's playing these songs it's because it's just where he's at right now.

I whole heartedly a agree. For me, Neil's music and his lyrics are very transformative. When I listen to this music, I can simply close my eyes and I am transported to another time and another place. Very few songwriters/musicians have mastered this ability to project such powerful mental imagery during live performances. Especially when you listen with an open mind. Cortez and Powderfinger epitomize this perfectly. I like to call these 'time-travel songs'. Thanks 👍 to everyone who helped bring this concert to RU-vid!!!

@@jeffryhammel3035 Lucas Nelson is a Son of Willie Nelson and Brother of Lucas Nelson of The Promise of the Real . Both Brothers have played with Neil Young at Farm Aid as well as did LP's with Neil Young (The Monsanto Years +> ) Both Micah and Lucas are Awesome Musicians !

Yes, thanks. I'm seeing Neil's band in Chicago on May 23. I've seen them many times in the 80's thru today. I had to cheat and get a preview. It was nice.

@Nitemare.60 No, not yet, but thanks for your thoughts! I'd imagine that touring is difficult for artists at that age; so if there's no rescheduling, we're still happy. Hey, if you are around Chicago in mid-October, get a nice chair and watch the Chicago Marathon. It's really something. We like just watching on Michigan Avenue about 3 miles from the finish. You'll meet people and watch runners from all over this World. T.C.

I was asking about Neil because I had read that they postponed your concert and were supposed to go back to Texas after Chicago to do Austin & Dallas which were postponed due to bad weather. The article that I read said it was due to illness. I'm just wondering who. I've not seen a thing on that since. I'm just concerned what happened. The marathon sounds like some fun tho.

well said. People get too wrapped up in "what is Neil going to say" regarding politics. The point is the man is genuinely sincere about his music and how he feels about people. It's no wonder all the grunge guys were enamored with him back in the 90's. And he didn't touch politics.

Did he write a new verse for Cortez? (around 13:00 forward) or is it from other songs

He wrote that verse years ago when recording it but lost it, only rediscovering the verse recently. So good of him to finally put it back in.

Saw him at Atlanta. For 2 weeks after, I was in a Neil fog. Just couldn't seem to get anything done. What a great fog.

I've been priced out of fandom. Thankfully, I saw Neil with various combos, 5 or 6 times in the 90s & Aughts, starting with the Ragged Glory tour in '91 with Sonic Youth... hell, I can't even afford club shows no more! 🦃😡🦃😡🦃😡🦃

FYI- We checked prices and they came down the closer you got to the show. Not Neil, but LiveNation policy I'm sure. I think they were about 100 wwhen we got them

Ticket prices are ridiculous for most good musicians. Its not the Artists, but the Ticket Sales Orgs being greedy. Glad I was into music and concerts since early '70s!! We paid $20 for a great seat!! Lol...

I was there also. The sound at that place is to die for. Have you listened to the full show audio here on utube from Ty Guy concerts? It is the bomb. No video, but picture changes throughout. Put my phone with the Bluetooth & jam out. I thought it was rather short too. I wanted a second encore, but everybody settled for one. You know he went to Tennessee after us. Bad weather, then played the following night. Well, they wanted it & got 2 encores out of him. 17 songs all together. MAN ........

You gotta enjoy it for what it is, an encore to a fantastic career supplying us with golden moments. There is always going to be a point where purist quality is outshone by the nostalgia factor. The alternative where he and others are gone forever sucks!
