Neil is a different type of performer. He'll perform a hard rock song as a ballad and vice versa simply not to get bored or to be predictable.

that's awesome! Neil Young is from my hometown Winnipeg Canada. If you like this song, check out "big yellow taxi" and "woodstock" by joni mitchell crosby, stills, nash and young (neil young's other band from the 60's) Buffalo Springfield (another neil young band)

To get the full Neil Young experience, both solo and with his best back-up band, Crazy Horse(Billy Talbot-Bass, Ralph Molina-Drums and Frank "Pancho" Sampedro-Guitar and Keyboards), you should watch his concert film called Rust Never Sleeps. It was recorded in 1978, and shows Neil Young at his peak, in front of an enthusiastic crowd. Acoustic Guitar, Harmonica, Piano, Electric Guitar, plus he sings with his amazing, distinct voice. And then there are the Road Eyes. Watch the concert film.

Another classic song by a Classic man, between Neil Young, Crosby, Stills & Nash, and the Allman Bros. you can never go wrong all have some amazing tunes that never get old, total gems in their own right.

Hi Elok...me again. Just wanted you to know: Lynyrd Skynyrd's song "Sweet Home Alabama", was written as a response to Neil Young songs "Southern Man" and "Alabama", where he talks about Racism in the United States. That's why the second verse of Sweet Home Alabama says: "Well I heard Mr. Young sing about her... Well I heard ol' Neil put her down... Well I hope Neil Young will remember... A southern man don't need him around anyhow". Would be great to react this song as well. Anyway, you should listen to Neil Young's "Powderfinger", great song. Take care girl.... Keep on rockin' . 😎👍

Been a Neil Young fan since the early 70's and a Buffalo Springfield fan before that when he played with Stephen Stills and then with CSN&Y before going solo and playing with Crazy Horse and other bands occasionally. He been around a long time but I enjoy his earlier music the best. Thanks Elok.

Thanks for playing some Neil ! I’m a big fan. I’ll suggest the song he played to start the concert I saw - “ Comes A Time “ (live Farm Aid, 86’)I still can remember the warm/ happy emotion that swept through the crowd during that one.

Neil Young is more famous for his chilled songs like this one, but he's generally only done an acoustic album once every few years to give his ears a rest from the metal shred-fests that he generates the rest of the time. For an example of the latter, try Rocking In the Freeworld or Hey Hey My My from Live Rust.

Funny that you would mention the word genius. Back in 77’ I was hitching around in northern California and got a ride with his road manager. That was the word he used to describe him too. Thank goodness I got to see him live ten years later - it was a fantastic performance !

I remember at the concert I saw how he went into some free form riffin’ on his electric that blew my mind. Picture a thought bubble over his head that said “Remember Jimi Hendrix? Well, I learned a few things from him …., check this out”. He tore the roof off that auditorium !

Elok, Neil Young wrote the classic song "Ohio" about the shootings at Kent State University in Ohio on May 4, 1970 where 4 students were killed and 9 wounded by National Guard troops. It was recorded by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. I highly recommend giving it a listen

Now you’ve hit an artist that I absolutely LOVE! Neil Young has two sides to him. One side is his acoustic music side, exactly what you just witnessed. The other side is his electric music side, with his band Crazy Horse. Both sides are great! I’ve seen him in concert 5 times.

Technically you're not wrong but Neil Young is regarded as a Canadian musician. He got US citizenship in 2020 at the age of 74.

Hi Elok Hsu, a good song but the one that is close to my heart is "Cinnamon Girl" from 1969 but do the Live 1991 version with his band Crazy Horse. It was the first song I played live in middle school
