I always felt a kind of kinship about Neil and after listening to his music for decades, I still look to him for good vibes. It's good to hear that same voice and same style, still living in his music. It's been carried over the span of most of my life, and I'm 71 now, and he's still older than me, and I look up to him. I hope this never ends. We've all survived so much, just keep spirit alive, the rest will follow. We're on the road together.
My brother played guitar and loved Neil Young...my brother died 3 yrs ago this past Christmas and my life will never be the same...BUT, he could play many Young songs as good as Mr. Young...if I walk in on it or it comes on at some ones home, I would have to go to the bathroom to keep everyone from seeing my tears ..Three years later, I am still broken hearted but now when I hear 'The Needle and The Damage Done ' and close my eyes and smile...smile because for just those minutes, it's as if my brother is playing for me again. THANKS, Mr. YOUNG, for bringing my brother back to me to play your songs again....

Neil has always been my favorite musician, poet, artist. I could always relate to his great lyrics, and have been lucky enough to see him live three times. He's gotten me through some tough times, and many great ones. Thanks Neil. Long may you Run!

what do you think of him now jumping on the wagon with a bunch of totalitarians & political hacks ? You can't be for rocking in the free world & censorship to ? they don't mix
@@neilyoung7224 Neil , you can't keep on rocking in a free world of censorship ..JR has conversations ...something lamestream doesn't want us to have ..Obey ..take your jab ..the man with the white coat says ...in this insane asylum ..I'm American ..born & bred ..I don't bash people for their freedom to choose wisely ..let the chips fall where they may but get off our toes ...totalitarian politicians are not my friend ..neither is JB who said vacs are safe ...my friend spent months in the hospital , after a bad reaction from the jab....tell him that ..American Stars should shine , rather than burn out in a bar being served cocktails by Dr. Fauci !
Original guitarist... Guitars have "arguably" been played since the 1500's... How would you compare his guitar playing with... Gustavo Melendes... 1552- 1597...????
Neil, just wanted to thank you for being true. I have always appreciated your music. But, when Prairie Winds was released. I had no idea how great...deep... profound your music was. Best work ever. Loved the live movie that followed after.

Neil Young is a phenomenal songwriter, singer, producer, screenwriter, record & film director & producer; Neil was inducted into the Hall of Fame twice.
How can you keep on rocking in the free world of censorship ? .that doesn't make sense to me ..Neil is washed up ..That album shouldn't be called " American but 'China Stars & Bars ...sad ..he likes this Dem-totalitarian government I reckon .

@@neilyoung7224 hey Neil I seen your homage to AH EM RAH👀😉 and what happened to your two sons your would bring to the steam town train store on Lackwanna Avenue now you have two "girls" I remember and now you are married to a guy? You were probably the best and you are a ghostwriter for other artists but you took sides or maybe you were all along and this is not what I seen in magazines and I saw myself they block the street and the owner who close for you personally and you are married to a dude well it was a good memory that you killed and probably so much more at 24
His work to make this a better world is his value, thats what he is worth in my opinion. Dont care about the rest of it.His best work was not even mentioned. Also the pic with Hannah is a pic with his late wife Peggy. A cruel thing to do to a memory............. Jackieblue(L.A.)✌

@@neilyoung7224 life would be wonderful without you. Never liked you then and now you try to silence freedom of speach. You're an elite hypocrite. Time for you to stay in Canada...America doesn't need or want you 💯💯💯
I remember going to see him in Montreal Canada in about 1970 he told us to shut up and walked off stage because we where all screaming so loud when he came on stage.
thats funny, Did he come back? i would think it would be after 1970, as he seemed a lot more humble from 68-70, after 'after the gold rush' and moreso after Harvest, the humility days were over
@@ryansettani9189 yes he made us all wait a good 20 mins and we all shut up and listened a Montreal crowd in those days was full house in a huge venue and we were just so excited we went wild for all of our shows. He was amazing of course love the man
@@rubydawn1 The closest thing ive seen to that was the 1999, awesome solo performance with great set list, he rarely did them after 1970, he always had a backing band which is good but the best is Neil solo IMO
pretty lame documentary, interesting still photos, not a great account of his musical collaborations though and no mention of Crazy Horse at all - really?
I wouldn't call that a documentary... I call that a video using Neil Young name to get money from adverts. And they don't even show the pics of his first wife Suzan... This girl wasn't Suzan, it's just a girlfriend. They're confusing a lot of things and make no difference between what's important and what's not. Albums, bands, homes, cars... They just don't know Neil enough to talk about him.
You forgot some other bands, Stray Gators and International Harvesters, Shocking Pinks & others. Above all, Neil is one of the most outspoken truth poets of our time. Last trip to Tulsa is still so relative in a world of disposable trends & abrupt changes, Words between the lines of age.
what about Neil's anti bio tech album... funny that he's advertising for Prizer now! Or his free speech tour... funny that he's working for censorship now... I sure love Harvest!
These guys (and girls) all sold out. They made their millions and now don’t care that the world turned into a sewer while they adopted lifestyles of the rich and famous. I still enjoy the music sometimes, but it didn’t mean a damn thing.
So if they work hard for their money and contribute to charity, why can't they enjoy their hard earned money? What are they supposed to do live like hippies? we all grown up!
Amen, I feel the same way though he’s been on a huge decline since Prairie Wind.. Brain aneurisms tend to do that. THen he foolishly goes for a walk with a partially healed hole in his femoral artery and almost bleeds to death in the street. His lyrics and tunes are retreads and he’s resting on old recordings of his stuff . Crosby is the ONLY. One still making great original music and I do not blame him for moving on from these guys.
Naw Croz is the only one still making original great music . Fresh, creative, experimental , with many different types of music . Stills and Young are just coasting and pretty much retired or just tired. They are all pushing 80 yrs old.
Thanks so much for the love ❤️ I really appreciate, I hope you will never stop listen to my music 🎶.. If you don’t mind kindly drop me your hangout just to get in touch with you privately ❤️❤️
And the Stray Gators, the Santa Monica Flyers, the Ducks, the Transband, the Bluenotes, and also with Booker T and the MGs, Promise Of The Real..... So much more to say.
@@billenplum ya but lots of these bands are hand made by Neil , some with studio musicians, and most with Crazy Horse members scattered in, Pearl Jam also
@@ryansettani9189 All those bands were made by Neil, ( not BookerT, POTR or Pear Jam of course), he just changed the name of the band each time one of the members is replaced. Mostly the bands are mixed between the Stay Gators members and Crazy Horse members, depending on who was available for touring. What's bothering me in the original com is that only The Springfields, CSNY and CH are mentionned... So it's just ignoring Neil's best friends who've been playing with him so long , as Ben Keith, Rick Rosas or Tim Drummond...and many other great ones. They're part of several of the bands Neil gathered, and on many of his albums, especially his best ones. And well, Ben Keith was a studio musician at first, but after Harvest, he became Neil's favorite multi instrumentist besides Stills, and especially his wonderful steel guitar bandmate for ever. He was no more a simple studio musician, but way much more. Neil's best music wouldn't be what it is without Ben Keith. I sometimes read fans complaining that Neil's music doesn't sound no more like it used to... Well, what can he do about that ? They're dead now, noone can replace them: They were totally part of Neil's sound.

yeah who cares that he's authoritarian now! Who cares that he once did a whole anti biotech album but now works for Phizer. Who cares if he sold out on all of his principles. The dude is scared! let him be scared! Authoritarian Neil is a mean name to call him. We should undertstand he's just like a scared little baby and everyone loves babies. Neil... if I could hold you in my arms and sing you a song! I don't care if you went fascist. In fact I want top see you embrace stand have an anti free speech tour now and a pro bio tech album! That would be so awesome! Stick it to the common people Neil! Show your rich friends the truckers are your enemy!
I am coming to you from Neil's birthplace, Pickering, Ontario. Neil comes in second for individual artists in my heart. Second only to Dylan. Have you done a video on Dylan?
Should just say Cortez The Killer is near the best guitar. He ever played. I know. I'll get some arguments but I've really liked him since I bought after the goldrush, everybody knows this is nowhere, great also. Harvest has always been the closest acoustic type ballad to Goldrush. Man he or the great Steven stills could have picked anybody of the street to replace Crosby and Nash. Hard for a favorite though Rust never sleeps, live Rust right up there,, for me. Just my humble opinion.
Super Neil Young fan, from his debut solo album. Tried to follow him even in his freakiest moments and he is still rocking till the end. Like your videos but please ditch that crummy background musical accompaniment lol
Is that black roadmaster the original hearse Neil drove in early days or a nostalia buy, still looks like a hearse. I hope he doesnt get in the back for a long long time!
ya whats that all about, "more than 22" is correct, yet "more than 42 albums" would have been accurate, plus 3 records with B Springfield, 4 with CSNY, 1 with Steven Stills, and numerous live/compiliation/and archive releases
can't forget his anti biotech album, even though he's now working for them... or what about he free speech album,,,, even though he's against free speech now. We can still listen to the old Neil and pretend he never went fascist if we want.
AMEN!!! Grew up on the Dude... Love his music No Doubt.. Im assuming this "Activist" would have Frowned upon so many $$$ related endeavors he is now Privileged to CONSUME... back in the day... Born in 58'... guess I bought in... Bummer!!!!
It's as if you hadn't watched the video. Farm Aid supports needy farmers, the Bridge School helps disabled kids, and you have no idea how many other charitable and environmental causes he's supported financially. You obviously have lots of money compared to many, since you have an internet account. Why not put that money into housing for the homeless?
@@DavidNelsonO Now Neil hates the farmers! and the truckers! and the tow truck drivers! He sure loves Phizer though. He drinks Phizer soda pops. next album is going to be about silencing voices that speak against the establishment... can't wait!!!!
I don’t know the manufacturer, but if you ask a hat maker for a telescope crown & flat brim, it’d look close. If you live west of the Mississippi, you could ask for a “buckaroo” style from a hat maker.
I understand that during a Interview he had done decades ago he made a comment that he had to keep making music because he made a deal with someone or something.
OMG so this documentary says, neil released several successful albums after leaving csn&y, and they list trans, on the water and greendale, three pieces of you know what, not mentioning some of the greatest albums of all time he made
