a great album when it came out I was 11 years old, I started loving it at 14, now I'm 63 and I listen to it all the time, his voice, his harmonica, his guitar begin to travel with my mind, that melody, sweet, like Neil's voice. Album Harvest is a masterpiece, songs Alabama, words, harvest❤❤❤❤❤❤🌈☮🌈☮
I've always loved Neil Young's music, but the way it brings back hidden memories from decades long ago is truly something special. Listening to this version of Words right now just made me remember back when I was still a teen back in the late '70's, getting deliciously baked on Mother Nature's sweetest leaf and throwing a frisbee for hours in the park as Neil's music filled the air around us. Damn I miss those innocent days of my youth, but can't help smiling because of them, and all thanks to the one and only Neil Young.
The only thing I can't STAND about this song ( any version of it ) is that it ends ; it comes to an end .... I can't stand that !!!!! Absolutely hypnotic !!!!!
I remember going to see this movie at a movie theater, down on The Drag, in Austin TX in 73. I was with a friend, it was the middle of the afternoon and we were the only two people in the theater. So about half way through the movie, my friend pulls out a big fat doobie and we smoked it, lol. I was scared shitless, but nothing happened and to this day, its still one of the memories of those days thats among my fondest memories. Thanks Doug.
Cool story. I was 12 in '73. I was a huge NY Harvest fan by then. I became aware of JTTP later on, but I don't remember when it was exactly.I think I saw it at a late night showing in my hometown of Beaumont. Same place I saw Rust Never Sleeps in '79.
Brividi! Suono sporco. Chitarra suonata con il cuore. Anima elettrica. Distorce il pensiero. Ti vidi in Italia nel '82. Fuoco intelligente. Rimani come un orma nei sensi. Neil sei ancora con me.
Sometimes he makes me so happy and some days I cry..old memories his voice brings me to tears how I want those days back. The song ends and I'm ok again I love Neil
We my 3 siblings my mom loved Neil called him Uncle Neil for reasons I do not recall. I listened to this over and over. He did this live in Glatonsbury in 2009 I believe search for it it will make you stand up and really feel the guitar through your bones. This is awesome thanks for sharing
Neil is a visual story teller. The best. A perfectionist. This is why he is "great". Wat a lick! Makes the hair on my neck stand up. Very emotional piece. Simple but strong. Powerful yet restrained. Dynamic but musical. Just perfect. Just beautiful!!!!
Got this for Xmas when it came out on vinyl as a teen and it is one epic masterpiece to savour when you have time to really get into it. Its a long Journey. This tune in particular is Haunting me since it came out but this version is something different.
I do not go out very often but a while back I heard that you were playing at the big day out so I went for it. Everyone sat together but I stood behind a fence right by the stage by myself. I could almost touch you. Incredible but did I imagine that on the last note that you looked at me and broke everyone of your strings and no I was neither drunk nor stoned Qué funny. Love you man may you and all around you be surrounded with joy and compassion.
I shoulda gone to that concert with him. Thinking of a friend who I loved. Only a friend. He was a big Neil fan. Really funny how we love certain people in our lives with strange connections and for reasons we don’t know. This song reminds me of him, so much. Love to the Otherside,my friend. We’re all connected anyway. See ya✌️
In 76. Remembering walking into a house with 4 stoned out of their zone Him singing this song ..all i could do is Smile straight as lace...hahahahah 😅😅😅😅
Quelqu'un et quelqu'un étaient au bord de l'étang Someone and someone were down by the pond Vous cherchez quelque chose à planter dans la pelouse Looking for something to plant in the lawn Dans les champs, ils retournaient le sol Out in the fields they were turning the soil Je suis assis ici en espérant que cette eau va bouillir I'm sitting here hoping this water will boil Quand je regarde par la fenêtre et sur la route When I look through the window and out on the road Ils m'apportent des cadeaux et me disent bonjour They're bringing me presents and saying hello Chanter des mots, des mots entre les lignes de l'âge Singing words, words between the lines of age Des mots, des mots entre les lignes de l'âge Words, words between the lines of age Si j'étais un junkman vous vendant des voitures If I was a junkman selling you cars Laver vos fenêtres et faire briller vos étoiles Washing your windows and shining your stars Pensant que ton esprit était le mien dans un rêve Thinking your mind was my own in a dream Que vous demanderiez-vous et à quoi cela ressemblerait-il ? What would you wonder and how would it seem? Vivre dans les châteaux un peu à la fois Living in castles a bit at a time Le roi a commencé à rire et à parler en rimes The king started laughing and talking in rhyme Chanter des mots, des mots entre les lignes de l'âge Singing words, words between the lines of age Des mots, des mots entre les lignes de l'âge Words, words between the lines of age
In many aspects, this is my favorite all-time Neil Young song. Second is "Last Dance" off the "out-of-print" Time Fades Away LP . . . Honorable mention to "Last Trip to Tulsa."
Those are all great selections. Last Trip To Tulsa has always been one of my favs. I have Time FadesxAway and all those early albums on 70's vinyl. On The Beach, Tonight's The Night. All great music/ art.
Exactly. Reminds me of once when I faked my own death some years ago and disappeared to panama, apparently on account of having secretly squirrelled away funds once shared by myself and several business associates into Swiss accounts via Uganda, or some smaller African country.
Muy buena versión respecto a la original .Neil se explaya con los fraseos de guitarra tipo like hurricane o cortez cortez.me alegra haberla encontrado.
Probably the same line-up that's on Harvest, doncha think? I hear ya, maybe Dallas Taylor. I don't wanna go find the album and look it up 🤪 I was wundering.about the piano and guess it's probably Nils L. Ben Keith is he the pedal steel player. All of it great..... well maybe little too long MHO 🙃
