...i dan danas, 30 godina poslije, ovo je megahit. Nažalost, tada, ali i prije, pjesme su rađene sa srcem da traju. Danas?

MegaFortius I can't go over my head why they decided to send those craps in the 00s and 10s when they had so beautiful ballads

And in 80`s too, when it was whole Yugoslavia. From 1986 to 1990, 5 consecutive years, Croatian song represented ex country, SFRJ. (1989-the winner Riva, 1987- 4th, 1988 - 6 th, 1986 -11th, but excellent singer Doris Dragovic. Remember song Maria Magdalena - 1999 - 4-th in Israel for Croatia (sung by Doris too) - the best placement for Croatia on its own ?

@@egonegemann Missing such composer as Rajko Dujmic & Djordje Novkovic. First was the head of "Novi Fosili" (Yugoslavia - 4th - 1987 - "I wanna dance") and winner as composer of "Rock me" (1989 sung by Riva). Second one was the best composer in Yugoslavia & Croatia and the father of Boris Novkovic (Croatia - 2005 - 11th place with "Vukovi umiru sami" - The wolves dying alone). In Europe Ralph Siegel was the best of the best: Ein bisschen frieden, Dschingis Khan & Johnny Blue - just a little part from more than 20 songs for Germany and few other countries over the Europe on ESC

Even dance songs were good, especially from Dujmic and songs as "Julie" - 1983 (Daniel) & "Hajde da ludujemo" - 1990 (Tajci). Daniel was born in Montenegro, but better known as croatian singer. That was Yugoslavia!

The 1994 'Eurovision Song Contest' was the second year I watched the competition all the way through; and the first I recored the show on video (record and play, record and play)! So, this brings back memories as Croatia and Portugal were my go to entries that year. I also liked Poland and thought the UK was okay. Although I wanted Russia to win as it was my favourite that year (as simple as that). This song was stronger for the rearrangement with the live orchestra and between Toni and That backing vocalists; yet, I for one don't believe that the 'Eurovision Song Contest' would be stronger with the orchestra. Some songs, yes, mostly it would be a waste of good money (orchestras cost an arm and three legs, which post Convid-19, no country should have money to waste). Most children nowadays are generic. Armenia, Azerbaijan, Austria, UK, Ireland, Sweden, eSpain, North Macedonia, Australia take your pick; with so many artists not doing their own thang and so many young people on social media and the on-line globalisation means that distinction, culturalisation, and quality are compromised. There is such a word as 'can't' and if you can't sing in tune live you have no need for a record contract and need to stop calling yourself a singer. Music and Eurovision loving fans deserve better. Far better! With a lot of songs these days having a crude beat that renders all other parts of the song to the background (including vocals) and a distinct lack of melody (whatever happened to melody?!) then an orchestra is almost as "necessary" as impoetance at an orgy. (Unless there are musical miracles, rich diversity, quality vocals, oo, and culturalisation on the horizon) The old school Eurovision fans need to stop being so nostalgic, move with the musical and economic times, cop on, and wise up.🌞🧡

he should have won a year earlier with a better song, but the band won with a song by the influential author Đorđe Novković. Tony suspected it was set up and was very angry. When he won a year later, he also suspected that he had been rigged and that they were retaliating against him for not winning in 1993. And he always said that if he found out that they had rigged his victory, he would return the award.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BFa7t5oJ5hk.html

@@branimirsamija7841 Thank you for sharing Branimir, I never knew that. It's a shame that the officials of some countries don't always play by the book; as it goes against why the 'Eurovision Song Contest' was created (to bring Europe together through song after the sheer hell of WWII. If only people would remember that. And considering what Croatia was going through in 1994...ahem).☀️🧡

@@TheGingerButterfly You're welcome. In the meantime, Tony Cetinski became the number 1 pop singer in Croatia, and last night (February 11, 2023) he performed as the main guest during the counting of votes at the Croatian Eurovision Song Contest. The song "Nek' te zagrli netko sretniji" (1993) became one of his biggest hits and he performs that song at every concert, while "Nek' ti bude ljubav sva" (1994) did not achieve such success and almost never and does not perform. The highlight of his career was the "Furia Tour" in 2009, which he held throughout the entire former Yugoslavia. And for me personally, the best performance of "Nek' te zagrli netko sretniji (I'm letting someone happier to hug you)" was at the biggest concert of that tour in Zagreb in front of 20,000 people in May 2009, when he brought the five finalists of the Croatian music talent show (in which he was a member of the jury) as guests to sing that song together with him. I recommend to listen this version:ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KfNewSDqKBo.html

Why did they not show any shots of the orchestra in 1994? It could have really helped during the brass solo, instead of watching the camera panning over nothing...
