Nelson in Atlanta 1988: Picking up Michael Musto at the Airport 

Screw the Kardashians, this is my reality show. Don't know how many hours, probably days, I've spent watching Nelson videos!

David Goldman, driving the car, was Dick Richards' partner of many years. He also was one of the most brilliant drag characters on the Atlanta scene back then: Betty Jack Devine, an older wealthy oil heiress, black sheep of her family, and the head of Senior Socialists for Peace. She dressed very glamorously, but was always reminding people of the accomplishments of the socialist movement of an earlier era, especially "The electrification of the rural south!" Hilarious mainstay of The American Music Show, their cable access program.

I don't think Dick was ever in a bad mood. He was always smiling and you can tell how much he loved his dear friend Nelson.

Went to NYC and HAD to go to meatpacking district to see Nelson’s house 🧡 I LOVE HIM !!

This cameraman was ahead of its time!

I know people marvel about him lugging the camera around but I am more impressed at his battery life than anything else lol I had a camcorder in the late 90s that had less battery time than this one does.

I don't really care about all the gay culture or music stuff--I'm just fascinated by the fact that there is such a large archive of footage from daily life in the 80s being made available in such good quality on the internet in this day and age. It's like someone stuck RU-vid in a time machine, like an anachronistic vlog. This is so surreal.

Love the old 70s cars. When I was in high school in the mid 80s, the 70s cars were 10 years old and affordable to HS students. Of course, back then, a 10+ year old car wasn't terribly reliable so you either learned to fix them or you walked alot.

"just go down here and turn left then turn right" jeez, what a time I'd like to visit. Free of phones, GPS, cars with giant screens and other distractions. Also love the "gays are going to take over" comment... We've definitely come a long way momma 😘

This was right before the DNC Convention in Atlanta [July 18,1988] which explains why Club Rio’s facade is painted w/ Stars and Stripes. Fun fact: that was the venue ( during the convention) Rob Lowe hooked up w/ the costars of the infamous sex tape.

Wow,woah jezzz,im 12 watching this,and I'm shocked,I researched highway's in Georgia, it looks like they got rid if the old highway exits and replaced them with new ones,and any video I look at with the highway signs,they look like they have a different color,green,the i85 have also changed in gwinnett,they got rid of they old highway gantry,and widen the lanes,the highway had a country type until GDOT had to add Express lanes,going to Georgia highway route 53,exit 126 Jackson county,Atlanta is changing in a good way skyview Atlanta was a good addition to the city,and Mercedes Benz stadium was to,I like to see my state change,but also,when you go on the i75 north to Chattanooga,when there is a bridge with concrete and you drive over it,it will make a sound,but it looks like GDOT agian had to remove it,so now it dose not make a nosie,no concrete or anything,just pavement with regular road.

He gossiped and was always mean and negative, even to the people that were nice to him, like Nelson. He didn't even say, "Hello", to Nelson when he got off the plane. He just went right to the camera and spoke into it. Smh. You can tell that Nelson got fed up with him and Albert. Especially when Micheal and Albert were together acting like little a**hole children. Dick was always so nice. But why does he have a shirt on with someone else's name on the back. 😂
