Does anyone else notice how much Nelson is involved in school activities and extracurricular lol For someone who supposed to be a bully he sure does participate.
I love how even the stereotypical "bully" isn't just a 1D character to fill a role, he's got dreams, ambitions and worries of his own that influence his actions rather than the other way around
@Leonard M are you sure about that, i can garantie that a kid isn't bulling people for no reason, even if unrelated to the victim. So actually that pretty advanced and open minded view of a bully dues to the age of the show
@Leonard M Not exactly, bullies vary in style, strength, shape, and personality. Some manipulate, some threaten. Some are straight forward, some are subtle. Some have morals, some don’t. Give me your reason for why you think bullies are 1D.
@@firstname3359 It's because Nelson was acting as he always does, so nothing was out of the ordinary, and that made Skinner happy.. The scene took place before Chalmers was scheduled to do an inspection, and Skinner wanted to make sure everything was running as usual. It's a running joke, because something always goes wrong when Chalmers inspects the school, resulting in his angry 'Skinnerrrr!' line.
Noticed how in later seasons Nancy started voicing Nelson in a deeper voice, my guess is to make him sound different as his early voice too similar to another Springfield bully, Kearny of the trio

I always enjoyed the scene where the tall guy with the tiny car makes Nelson walk down the street in his underwear sucking his thumb. I also liked the part where he loses the role of fallout boy, laughs at himself in the mirror, and finally figured out how much it hurt. "That's why nobody came to my birthday party"
2:19 this will always be one of my favorite Nelson moments. I just love how his face has a blank expression, like he isn't slapping that man out of joy, but as a mission

You’re missing the part where he calls Bart on the phone just to say, “Stamp collection? Ha-Ha!” Or the part where he biked all the way to Capital City because he somehow magically knew Bart was going to ruin Lisa’s state flag and wanted to laugh when that happened. This bully is psychic!
Nelson is in the top 3 simpsons characters for me purely because he is a lot more multidimensional than most other characters, he started as a generic bully but the stories they wrote around him actually show how sensitive he really is
I had a friend back in middle school that was just like Nelson.. he was quite strong and bullied me and other kids for no apparent reason, he could be agressive and extremely annoying.. he had a loving and caring family, but lost his father at a young age, he missed him a lot, that really hurt him and that didn’t help his behaviour. Despite all of that he still was my friend and I knew he had a sweet side, it was clear when he talked about his dad and other stuff he loved. In that sense I like the character of Nelson for showing this very deep personality.

Though, he practically beaten milhouse almost to having no life - don't know how Nelson doesn't get severely punished especially since he bullies multiple other victims as well
Nelson is so underrated caracter , has aperance like a bully and tough guy , but in reality he is very honest , decent and sensitive guy! And a good person.
I love the Simpsons for how many layers they put into the show. It's not only funny but they put alot of thought into the stories and character development.
That Road Trip episode was just great. Stopping in Branson well Nelson likes Andy Williams and "Moon River" and so do I. Nelson is going to be ok. He really is a pretty good kid.
I love how after Milhouse is bundled semi-conscious into an ambulance Nelson just turns to go back into the school, like no-one even told him off for almost killing another kid.
it wouldn't have been funny if he'd been told off. But they wouldn't make a joke like that today because people would be up in arms about it being homophobic
