Captcha Neon today's thrue vloggers should chip in and made a statue of Nelson with the camera ,dog and few cats and put it in meat district or alphabet city of manhattan ....))
I watch Nelson’s videos when I am anxious or having a bad day. They have a calming effect on me, I’ll never meet Nelson but I feel like he was a rare and beautiful soul.
I don't understand how this entire channel hasn't blown up.. this is literally gold and we get to go back in time, and Nelson's life was so interesting ♥ he will be missed
This is what happens when you just keep uploading videos, without doing any promotion for your channel or buying clicks. You´ll see 100% organic growth, but the size and range you end up with is gonna be negligible. As the content shown here (and I consider myself a fan of it) can be fairly described as kind of "special interest", this stuff won´t go viral all by itsself...there are few things that do.
The way he treated all animals (and humans, family/friends lol) really is something to be admired. He was so kind and had so much love and positivity ❤
Today is my 41st Birthday and I am watching Nelson's videos. I have watched several and thinking how sad that such a great guy passed away at the same young age as me. He has a very calming and peaceful way of about him. You can tell a lot about a person by the way they treat animals. He is so kind to both his friends, strangers, and his pets.
I can listen to Nelson all day everyday!! I wish he was still a live!! the things I would want to ask him and pick his brain😀😀😁😁 He is so sweet, gentle, and so we'll mattered. The people that were around him are so lucky.
Miss you Nelson!! Thanks for looking out for me when I came to NY when I was younger!! Can't believe you've been gone so long. Seems like just yesterday!
Actually I remember what cameras look like back then and when I saw his I thought well that must have been expensive because it was actually small for its time I remember some were half the size of an entire upper body
This might be the best one so far. The detailed description of the bathroom is insane. If anyone else on RU-vid tried that I would close the video without hesitation:)
I only discovered Nelson a couple of months back. What a beautiful man. I wish I could have known him. I'm an Australian, obsessed with NYC, travelled there 4 times now.
Sad that this man passed away so young I could guarantee he would have ended up with his own show on national TV exploring the night life in major city's around America and Europe Rip nellys dancing up in heaven with his beloved blackout and Douglas and family and friends too god bless everyone and especially Nelson for capturing the life's of so many walks of life a real proper visual video artist and innovation with his cam at hand for every moment brilliant
I wish Nelson hadn't passed when he did... would have love to see how his films evolved over time... He had such a unique way of doing his films and loved his narrations. Just when I thought I'd seen everything he'd done much to my delight a new one pops up every now and again.
Awww Douglas and Blackout. Bless Nelson's heart. Shame he went so soon. He was very talented at documenting what he did and his camera work was amazing.
@@patemathic videographing and videoblogging are different things. not everyone who owned a camera and recorded birthday parties back then were automatically vloggers. Nelson was different in that sense.
He reminds me of Mercury with his cats in the beginning of this video. Makes me love him that much more. He was such a pure sweet beautiful soul. R.I.P. Nelson.
I'm a year older than Nelson was in this video but i was -1 when he filmed this. He should be in 70's now and i wish i could have met him. And Blackout too :(
Nelson is a legend. I wish he knew how many people loved watching him now, he truly is a wonderful personality with such a lovely character. I love listening to him. He makes the most mundane things interesting. I hope his animals were well taken care of when he passed.
This is crazy. The first Vlogger Ever! I just discovered him. I'm late to the game (05-2017). The Coen brothers should make a movie about Nelson and this 1980s New York. Just call it "Nelson". The Coen brothers are the only ones who could do it. The 1980s New York was alive and creative. New York 2017 is like Disney Land.
Sending Love and Light to you Nelson and Douglas and Blackout. Thank you for Time Traveling to show us that with enough love everything is possible and doing this for us who can now watch it in 2018 on RU-vid. Hope you three always go everywhere together
Lovely comment & well said. I love watching these videos also. I was so young during these years and living in NYC and It was a great time when it was affordable to live in NYC or the five boroughs. You can actually live in a one or two bedroom under a thousand dollars. Now it's outrageous! But it sure brings back great memories of my youth in my early teens and late teens. When we made up things to do without any internet or Google. I would do it all over if I could. 👍❤️
Truly a wonderful human being that died way too young from a heart attack, NO DRUGS IN HIS SYSTEM. I am certain that if this man still was alive he would be very wealthy (financially) and even richer by his friends. The man had an awesome capability to make people smile and know he was truly your friend.
39 years this month. A historical piece of footage. This is where Vlogging began. May 28, 1983. The very First Vlog 22 years before RU-vid and about 30 years before Vlogging became a thing
Forget that this is old and that this is the first vlog ever and see this mans beautiful spirit, something you rarely see anymore. Rip friend, thank you for a little joy.
This has brought back so many beautiful memories for me. Wherever you are Nelson and friends in this infinite cosmos, l do hope you're having as much fun and still spreading your love. ❤
These 80s vids put me into such an emotional mood. Seeing so many average people in their daily lives, to know some have passed on, yet others, even the youngest in these videos, their lives are nearing the end . From these vids, until now, that was their entire adult life. Gone now. For many, being on Nelsons video, could have been the only time they were taped in their life. .....we have one short video, mid 90s of my then 75yo grandma....
And it..NYC ... Looks more broken down busted and dirty more then ever before even with these multi-million buildings it looks like a ghost town ghetto
@@oliverv291: You truly don't know NYC in the 1960-80s. So much arson and rubble that looked like Europe after the war. It was still expensive as hell compared to what people were earning. With a murder rate many times more than what it is now. It was a near bankrupt shithole.
Thank you Nelson. You were such an influential personality. If only you were here today with us today with all our technology. We would have loved to see your cutting edge technology and filmography.. A genius ahead of your time.
A comment from a different point of view: Around this time I was working at a service center that repaired those machines that he uses in this video. It was one of the first 'portable' units but I never saw them used the way that Nelson used his. They mostly were used for 1 off type things like weddings or birthday parties. You really had to be dedicated to carry these things around. BTW, these were 2 pieces with the tuner being the other piece which stays behind on the tv.
I just like his videos because he brings me back at that time of the early 80s right through 89 what's a good time. Today nothing has personality or character it's all artificial today. Yeah great we have a good technology we have the internet we have computers we have smartphones but today doesn't have that magic that was then. I mean look at Nelson he lives downtown try to do that today he had a backyard and he said dogs and
