What a great play through! If you have connection with AR please tell them the magazine on the Recon models gun is backwards! It is driving me crazy lol. The captains magazine is the correct direction on his model
I think you are playing the doors incorrectly. A door is placed next to the room entrance leaving the rest of the corridor empty. It is possible to have a corridor with a closed door at either end sealing it off completely. In the original Nemesis, doors were placed in the centre of the corridor, not at the end. Around the 34:00 mark, the intruders you placed in the corridor would have been behind the door you had to place. I hope that helps 👍
That totally helps. The rules for the doors were not the best I’m so used to the other nemesis titles. Thanks for the helps. It makes way more sense now!!! 😃😃👍
Thank you for the help. I was wondering about that I am so used to playing the old nemesis where they come down in the corridors. Thanks for the help and thanks for watching 😃😃👍
Great game! Exploration cards were being resolved with the doors & noise tokens being placed in reversed order from what was shown on the cards though. just so you know. Can make a big difference if a horde spawns behind a door or not.
Thank you for letting me know. I am so used to playing the old nemesis. I was confused as to how to handle that. Thanks for the help. Thank thanks for watching 😃😃👍
@@MeetMeAtTheTable yeah the original nemesis placed the doors in the center of corridors but retaliation seems to put the doors right up next to the room, and some cards even mention "room doors". Although I haven't yet seen it happen in gameplay , theoretically the exploration cards can create corridors with doors at each end of them with hordes trapped in between them (until they bust out.)
Good video as always, guys. Bairnt, or Colin: I am getting the base pledge w/ minis. Considering adding a small add-on. Do you think it would add more replayability/value to do the Support Squad (add 2 new player characters), or The Xyrians (adds a new enemy race to throw into the mix)?
Great question. I have always found the enemy races add more of a replay element. If they follow the same formula as the previous games they are vastly different from the base box enemies. The original game had an enemy that attacked your mind and one that grew by eating its own. The 2nd game had a plant based enemy that grew throughout the facility. So those enemies are so different. Thanks for the great question. Glad you enjoyed the playthrough. Always a pleasure to hear from you Powell. 😃😃👍
I do not believe you have to use an action to reload your weapon or use an oxygen tank. I think the "item" action is for items in your backpack. You can freely reload and supply oxygen from your belt at will. Even though SOME people didnt seem to enjoy this playtheough because of the "errors", i certainly did. 9nly pointing these out fir folks who watch in the future. Great video as always Bairnt.
Thank you Megalodon. I'll look deeper into the belt items it makes sense that they cost nothing but if thats the case the heavy gunners card is weird. because you can use the card to make a burst or shoot action and then reload your weapon in any order. If it was free to reload then this card would be not that important unless I'm not understanding it. Thanks for letting me know. Glad you were Able to overcome the errors LOL thanks for the great comment and thanks as always for watching
@@MeetMeAtTheTable I don't have the card text in front of me, but I believe it says you may put a clip in your backpack OR reload your weapon. To me this means you can take a clip to store in your pack because your gun is loaded OR instead just take a clip and put it on your weapon. I'm not sure either though
I found the card text which will help you out. Sorry I didn’t have it earlier. it says “in any order: shoot or burst and reload the weapon that you are using.”
@megalodon2012 well this is prototype so there is a good chance that one of these ideas will change. I’m guessing the card may be changed. And I like the idea of free actions to use the belt items
Great presentation. I feel certain now I will get Nemesis OG and maybe Lockdown, but not this. I dont just want to roll die to attack hordes. Seems less interesting than the survival horror feeling of the previous two installations of the franchise tbh
Thanks Kulman!!!! Glad I was able to help. Yes I would say this is quite a different feel from the OG and lockdown. For sure. You will have to tell me what you think when you get them. They are super fun!!! 😃😃👍
Thank you so much for the playthrough! This game looks very interesting to play with friends and family. The "Nemesis" series games are new to me and I would like to have your wisdom and knowledge to make an informed choice. With your experience of the "Nemesis" series of games, if you had to choose only one pledge, would you choose the "Nemisis Retaliation Military" pledge at $229.00 which contains all the additions of Nemisis Retaliation or rather choose the "Nemisis Retaliation Military" pledge Nemesis Trilogy" at $345.00 which contains most of the components of the trilogy? What is the best deal? Thank you very much for sharing your experience.
Sorry it took so long to respond to your comment. Nemesis is a fantastic experience no matter which version you get. As for the 2 options you are looking at. This is my opinion but you have to options ahead of you. One is you can take your retaliation to the ultimate level and stay with the all in for that game. Or you can experience both types of ways to play nemesis. Which is the retaliation going in guns blazing. Which reminds me of the movie Aliens. And the other way which is sneaking around and hoping to survive each encounter with individual intruders. This is very much like Alien. I feel getting the different base games will give you more content to play and gives you the different experiences. Hope this helps and sorry for taking so long to get back to you. 😃😃👍
Always a pleasure to see a nemesis gameplay of yours thanks! I have a question, can you tell me the dimensions of the game board please?(rather the dimensions of the frame that makes up 2 sides of a possible gameplay area) i'm trying to understand if it can fit on my table or not
Thank you glad you enjoyed the nemesis content. Can’t wait to get back to it. I did look up the dimensions of the game and it is 2 1/2 feet by 2 1/2 feet square hope that helps thanks for the great comment and thanks for watching 😃😃👍
Your welcome!! I'll look into the tool belt items. I couldn't find it in the prototype rules. If they are free then I am confused by the heavy gunners card "Fast Reload". "In any order: Shot or burst and reload your weapon you are using." So if they were free actions then this card is confusing to me. I could be missing something or this card is going to be updated as the game moves forward thanks for the help and thanks for watching
@@MeetMeAtTheTable Most likely it is I who am confused, as i have only watched play throughs! That wording does make me think that it would cost an action, which is a bummer! Haha, even more brutal!
I have to keep telling myself that this is a prototype and there is a good chance as this goes forward the action could be free and the card will change. I like the belt items being free actions except maybe the Granada lol
I'll see what I can do I don't have access to anything but what you saw in the video. Even then it's a striped down version of what is coming from game found.
Well its hard to chose between those 2. Lockdown is very much like the movie alien where each intruder is a deadly advisary and you are trying to survive. Retaliation is much more like aliens where they are there to fight back and have the man power and weapons to do it but might get in over their heads. They are both really fun. Sorry I wasn't t much help. Thanks for the great question and thanks for watching.
Thanks for the great question. This is a prototype so I’m sure they are still working things out. Maybe keeping them together would have been a better plan. This game is intended to be tough. I expect to lose more the I win. As for then sector. I was about to uncover All of it but one my other character died before I could uncover the area. I don’t feel it’s a bug. Thanks for the great comment 😃😃👍
Love the video. On 39:22 I am not sure if you could put a room there as it overlaps the left side of the board...is there any limitations maybe? Love all your Nemesis content, so so fun to watch. And the live was also amazing ❤❤❤❤ Edit.. it was the way the camera was positioned that looked it was overlapping.😅
Hey Bairnt - great play through! Also saw the video with Colin ❤ any advice for a newcomer to nemesis - thinking of getting just retaliation but not sure if I should add the OG or Lockdown. Do all three have a space in your rotation or does this one beat out the other two? (PS solo is preferred way to play)
As a newcomer to Nemesis as well, i'm just doing Retaliation. I've watched many videos on the first two games and they just didn't really excite me. This one really does. Love the exploration here.
Great question hungery4apples!! Retaliation has way more differences then then nemesis and lockdown. But lockdowns and original nemesis are quite similar. I look at it like this. Nemesis and lockdown are like the movie alien. More about sneaking around trying to survive. Where retaliation is more like aliens going in guns blazing and there to do some damage. I have over the years pledged for everything because this is my favorite game. But if you wanted a full nemesis experience I would just chose either lockdown or the original nemesis and retaliation. Hope this helps. Thanks for the great question and thanks for watching. 😃😃👍
Totally get that megalodon!! There is quite a difference in this and the original. The exploration is really really cool!!! I think they took some amazing steps in the eighth direction for sure!!😃😃👍
If you're fun of the aliens theme, I'd recommend all trilogy, otherwise Lockdown will be enough, as it differs from retaliation pretty much and looks more polished and diverse than the original
I have both and although I love the original Nemesis because of the theme, I think Lockdown is the better game of the two. Retaliation looks like great fun too
An impossible number of errors. Missed steps, doors closed on the wrong side, armor on which it is written that it does not occupy a slot in the hand lies in the hand, etc. Plus, it’s some kind of sacrilege to dump the figures in a pile like a handful of olives. I don't understand if it was really that difficult to familiarize yourself with the new rules and key changes before recording the game?
Thanks for the great feedback. Sorry you did not enjoy the playthrough. There were quite a bit of errors but it was such an entertaining game I wanted to make sure people could see how much fun the game was. It is a prototype and so the minis are not what you will be receiving in the game. My minis for games and DnD are all either in my curo-cabinet, or the game protected. Most of these minis were damaged on delivery and needed to be fixed. I’ll make sure to put more pinned comments on how often I make rules errors I thought being able to put the subtitles in would help people know and learn. When the full game arrives I’ll make sure to have less errors. If your interested Rolling Solo and Mike at the One Stop Coop Shop also did some playthroughs your might enjoy. Sorry you were disappointed thanks for the feedback 😃😃👍
When it comes to errors, nothing is impossible for Bairnt. :) But there are 10,000 subs like me that love his energy and positivity, regardless of accuracy, especially for a Prototype, that he is most likely squeezing in between 10 other complex games he's trying to get to his channel. Bairnt may appreciate your feedback, but I would spend more time on aquiring your 19th subscriber if I were you. I'm assuming your post came across negative to me due to the fact that English isn't your first language. So, I'm assuming positive intent from you, but it didn't appear that way in the written word. Let me know when you stream your next board game, I'll be there, in the comments.
I am glad for your comment RoFlaFen, when you were reading the rulebook that AR provided did you managed to read all of the FAQ? Oh wait AR didn't provided rulebook for Nemesis Retaliation in the campaign. So relax, and watch the preview play, because without it you would not know what this game is. Even with mistakes it still shows the feeling of the game. How many times did you play Nemesis Retaliation?
