Basso Loto, now Astra, would an Ascot be in the future. Also a pleasure to see you prep the bottom bracket. DA 7800 has the perfect aesthetics for that neo retro look. Great choice the deda bars. The compact bar really modernize the bike. The classic purple LOOK pedals are just icing on the build. Looking forward to your next build.
it's always such a huge pleasure to watch people like you and Buff in South Africa working on these older bikes. the work you do is just magnificent. not sure on the colour scheme of this one though!!
Thanks for the support, I fell in love with Basso steel frames, so far I have Loto and Astra. Viper, Gap and Ascot if I find them in my size and at an understandable price, I have to have them! Greetings from the Czech Republic.

I had never heard of Columbus EL before. My 1995 Bianchi TSX UL has the Superset tubeset, with an ovalized downtube, at the bottom bracket (Celeste of course) In the 80's and 90's, I always wanted a Basso for my race bike....PS. I also have Shimano 7800 on my more modern steel bike, that I raced on from 2002 to 2017. I just noticed the pedals and saddle. I also use LOOK Delta pedals, and S.I. Flite saddles on all of my bikes. (I use black, fixed cleats)
@@basilegriboid.4149 I have had the Campagnolo suitcase for about 25 years. I didn't use it much for a while because the bikes were changing. And now he's in full deployment again.
A very tasty build! I like what you have done - something modern that fits with the classic frame. Did you have to coldest the stays? I envy that marvellous box of Campagnolo tools that I cannot afford. ...will be watching for more.
