Any videos / links on how you approach writing in Neoclassical? This is great for practicing technique but one thing I've always struggled with is getting the feel down with my own song writing. Great videos!
I think a lot of it goes back to looking at the original classical composers and analyzing their works. The two things I tend to always think about in classical stuff are the form of the piece and the function of the chords. Usually there is a lot of “pull” from one chord to the next. But yea, definitely read up on the “forms” that composers would use. Really interesting stuff that is way different than the “Verse-Chorus” types of structures we see today.
I would approach it in sections. Start with the first 15 seconds and when you get it down we’ll, you learn another 15 seconds until you can get through it all.
Coulda just said “good performance” and left out the “some little mistakes” there Persnickety Pete🤣 “To play a wrong note is insignificant; to play without passion is inexcusable." - Ludwig van Beethoven
