This is not right. I just tested real tungsten. Which I know is real as it is out of a tig torch and is very refractory. It has no reaction to even a super strong neodymium magnet. Tungsten carbide is kind of magnetic, so maybe that is what you have. A lot of cemented carbide have cobalt in them as well, which may be magnetic. But what you have there IS NOT PURE TUNGSTEN!!!!

This is FALSE everyone don't be fooled. I just ordered pure Tungsten to test with a N52 Neodymium magnet strongest you can buy and the Tungsten showed zero attraction. I further verified it was tungsten and it measured 19.3g/cm3. It was tungsten, it was priced like tungsten and it looked like tungsten purchased from a reputable source. Tungsten is not magnetic enough to be attracted by even Neodymium, you would need a very sensitive detector to discern if the gold piece is Tungsten with any magnetic field. I suspect the posters block is at best contaminated or they are confused by what they actually have.

If you tried to pick up tungsten with a magnet, the bonding would be unsuccessful, and the piece of tungsten wouldn’t respond. However, a neodymium magnet, a rare Earth magnet, will pick up tungsten, even though it’s paramagnetic.

My neodymium magnet barely rotates my tungsten disc hanging on a thread free to rotate. Your tungsten cube almost certainly contains some other metal that's ferromagnetic.

I keep seeing in my mind's eye crazy the reciprocating motion like the swing arm of a steam train where one arm is twice as long as the other arm, and there are (2) magnets, one magnet per arm, also one magnet is twice as strong as the other arm (double the strength), the two of these arms work without ever coming to a stop, and the spinning action produced the spin, and that spin works off a eccentric, and then a sun gear in order to spin a generator, and produce what I think scientist say is impossible, free energy.

Do this... 1. Balance your bar/coin on its edge. 2. Approach the gold with your neo magnet until aprx. 2mm away from contact. 3. Pull your magnet away from the gold fast and the force will knock your gold off balance. You can also push the gold out of balance but pulling is more consistent. I tried this on every single non-circulated maple leaf and they all behaved the same way. I havent tried this on tungsten. Can someone with tungsten verify if tungsten behave the same way?

Thank you I mean no one on RU-vid seems to know how to make it simple. Again thanks

It would be sweet to have a railgun that shot tungsten. Btw bye whatever you blast

All references say Tungsten should not stick to a strong magnet. I think your tungsten is fake

It is a rare earth neodymium magnet which reacts differently than standard magnets.

@@whyingo7964 I hope so would be great and easy test to rule out tungsten the only economical metal with density comparable to gold. Anything else counterfeiters will have to put equally or more valuable metals in the fake to keep same dimensions which would be alright by me :-)

@@whyingo7964 Neodymium magnets don't "react differently", they just react more strongly. They can exert up to about 50 times the force that a ceramic magnet can, but it's the same kind of force, not some new exotic force.
