While playing winter street hockey in Canada, the town kids often had to yell “Car!!!” That would cause everyone to pause the game action and pull the nets aside to allow the vehicle to pass.
In the Khumbu region, its moreless the same but instead of yelling out - “Car!”, the slowly approaching Yak bells would have someone calmly mention “Yaks”….and everyone on the trail moves to the uphill side of the trail to allow them pass by. 🇨🇦 vs🇳🇵
The Khumbu equivalent of an 18-Wheel transport convoy. These Yaks are used to carry a variety of goods to the small communities found along the beautiful trail winding from Lukla to Everest Base Camp 🏔
This Yak-Train was slowly making its way uphill from Lukla to the top of the world.u
