Also, "Mariamne, the True Dracophoenix" and "True King Agnimazud, the Vanisher" can also work as tech choices, since they DESTROY 2 other monsters in order to summon them - including either a WIND or FIRE attribute monster respectively. I wish they added one archetype Starlight Road and/or a retrain of Phoenix Wing Wind Blast.
Shinobirds are another cool thing you can mix with Nephthys. They're level 8 rituals, so you can search them with the Link-2, as well as recover their ritual spell from the graveyard.
my friend saw my nephthys core come in the mail when this set came out and ive never laughed at something so hard in my life. he saw them and went "you dont really care about the phoenix, you're only building nephthys cuz it's full of baddies"
Well, Egypt had a habit of giving their gods a lot of different roles, but none of Nephthys's duties are heavily flame associated, except maybe as goddess of the morning (but not the morning SUN, thats the job of a beetle named Kephri)
While I agree with you, you have to remember this is the Phoenix OF Nephthys--as mentioned in the videi. Hence, it kinda focuses solely on the phoenix qualities (the revival and the fire themes). I think the only thing it really tool from Nephy was the Egyptian aesthetic
One of my favorite techs to throw into Nephthys decks would be Yubel and their evolutions. Yubel does not specify where it needs to be destroyed from to transition into Yubel - Terror Incarnate. When destroyed, the Terror Incarnate can be used as a means of wiping the board during the end phase (not the most desirable time to do it) or as a link material. When Terror Incarnate leaves the field (yes it is sadly a "When" effect), you get to summon Yubel - Ultimate Nightmare. Which you could use as normal or also use it as link material. In running the Yubels, you do have to run a few garnets, which is not the most ideal, but if you are like me and are desperately trying to find a way to make viable Yubel decks then you will take it!
Nephthys-Yubel, together with Fire King Yaksha and Island, were actually quite a competetive deck in Duel Links for a long time. The core of the deck were Fire Kings and Yubel, slapping tier 0 Fur Hire‘s asses since Yubel‘s release and the Nephthys cards made it even better.
To explain about Last Hope..thank Master Duel's solo mode for this but the story goes that they needed the Sacred Phoenix to repel the invader and they managed to summon Cerulean Sacred but it's not enough and during their darkest hour, Disciple prayed...and Nephthys answered, transforming the Cerulean Sacred Phoenix into Nephthys the Sacred Flame! And Disciple becomes Conductor AFTER the war.
Much like Nephthys and the other god cards. They aren't the gods themselves just a dragon or creature of said God. Don't know why Slifer and Obelisk don't follow in Ra and Nephthys's footsteps in the TCG but that's how it be.
Their link monster should have an effect that serves as a ritual spell just like Megalith low level monsters are ritual spells. Like a ritual Verte Anaconda, just without the search. And counting as one of ritual materials.
Came back after nephyhys was added to master duel. As a casual player, this really helps to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the archetype. Thank you for making this a lot simpler for people like me to understand :3
Great video nova Also can anyone answer my question Why do certain cards like armed dragon, the creator, horus and nephthys have dark forms is their like a story behind it or are they just dark cause it’s cool
I did know of a story or theory on that long ago, and that was those you mentioned having dark forms were seeking power. They found it in the darkest part of the world and acquired it and became stronger because of it.
Want more support for this deck, it's the only ritual deck that love me (not bricking a lot easy summons) and with the next fleur support (another deck that love to destroy cards) we can mix it
Nephthys: Gets an entire Archetype that revolves around ritual (unexpected but cool) and link (but why?) summoning. No effect trigger on tribute (rip Hand). Ritual spell doesn't destroy. Rokket: Despite being a link Deck, gets a random ritual monster. Heavy Interlock destroys instead of tributes. Yeah, anyone who says Konami DOESN'T make decks bad on purpose is delusional. Sacred pheonix is an iconic early game card and deserves better.
They really work well with Dino’s with the right hand that’s my favorite ver to run and sometimes with kozmos since they do trigger there effect the machines tho
Okay but what about the insane synergy with Yubel? You can use disciple to destroy yubel and terror incarnate on the field, then incarnates effect will trigger the destroy effect. PRetty easy to make it a control deck, because you have yubels monster removal, with fire king avatar yaksha splashed in, you've got about 5 different ways of comboing. Yubel will keep your weak nepthys cards safe while triggering their standy effects, and cerualean and sacred pheonix get brought back every turn to deny backrow.
Like the rising pheonix every time that this archetype was turned down I came back around to vote for it again! Storytime: at one point i was talking to my coworker who plays magic about this deck and forgot that the "beatstick" and "booty" slang terms arent exactly in every game so I was unhesitant in calling Disiple a "Loli with a 2000 booty" I am reminded of this mistake every night in my nightmares
GoldenNovaYugioh, I think you got the "Awakening of Nephthys" Trap card wrong, it was only talking about the second effect can only be used once per turn; not both effects.
They could just give them a field spell with the effect: "nepthys" monsters used as material for a ritual/link summon are destroyed (this still counts as a ritual/link summon.). Slap on one or two other effects, and solve the whole problem in 1 shot.
I‘ve never heard of entire archetypes that are Duel Links exclusives. It‘s often only singular cards. Kiteroid, for example, was an anime-only card. Even to this day, it might not be in the TCG and OCG.
Can I see explanation on black luster and zefra cards. Pls. I like black luster wish there was more cards cause he looks soooo cool and I like idea of zefra but should have been a chaos theme deck in my dumb opinion cause I mean zaafrath think that how you spell it literally has a white and dark color pattern that seems chaosy to me and ik that’s not a word
The archetype in theory wasn't bad, but they really butchered the execution, I wish they make more cards to fix it, specially that Ritual spell, it should destroy the monsters rather than tribute them.
@@vla1ne Considering how many people like to mix it with Fire Kings could see Konami making cards that can be treated as Nephtys and Fireking like they did with the U.A and F.A support, not to mention they could straight up boost the Ritual Spell by making it destroy wind or fire monsters from your hand or field and add a bonus effect of using monsters from you deck, just to name a few options to improve the Archetype.
