Buster Blader: "I've only had Buster Whelp for a day and a half, but if anything would happen to him I'd kill every dragon in this room and then myself." XD
Buster blader trains them via violence, which is why they go into defense mode. A quick bump on the head with the back of his sword hilt will do the trick.
I love how buster blades is basically made to specifically counter kaiba's blue eyes strategy from duelist kingdom since if your opponent control 1 blue eyes White dragon buster blader becomes 100 atk points higher than blue eyes but if your opponent summons blue eyes ultimate dragon buster blader will gains 2000 atk and will again be 100 atk points higher an ultimate dragon which is funny to me
Lore theory: maybe the reason why citadel of Endymion and all the folks living in it (including the Prophecy and Spellbook archetypes) requested the services of THE Buster Blader is because the Dragon Ruler rampage of 2013 is actually canon in their lore and they didn't want a repeat of that after the Spellbooks barely managed to hold them off. :D
That would be sick and completely believable tbh. Even base form Buster Blader can cause a lot of problems for Dragon Rulers (before they XYZ at least) due to how reliant on the graveyard they are. And if we're counting Destruction Swordsman, that effectiveness goes even higher since he can kinda counter the XYZ they could go into with the various equipping stuff.
in the their lore, Dark Magician and Buster Blader are companions to each other... even though that their goal is different but helping each other to achieve it.. after they get what their want, they separated ways... Buster Blader continue to hunt and gain more dragons to boost his strength... in some time, he discover a baby dragon was going to be eaten (or destroyed) by a corrupted dragon.. so he rescue that baby dragon and adopt it as his litte companion, as that dragon grow and grow, itself was been changing, but BB knows that it was part of his evolution process... until the time the baby dragon was been old enough to be a big dragon, the aura around itself was been dark and corrupted it... Buster Blader knew that time was come... although that it was too hard to fight a close friend but he has no choice.. the corrupted friend fight the BB until Blader win and defeat him... too sad for him to lose a closest friend to him.. so he decide to fuse his close friend to him... and Become the most Powerful Dragon Hunter , together with his friend equip with it... and even though the baby dragon was gone... he was reincarnated as a spirit to guide Buster Blader to his adventure....
Buster Blader always had one of the most badass warrior designs, even in Yu-Gi-Oh. Definitely one of my favourites in the anime and I'm glad they still get support
I mean you can combine dragon-based decks with BB cards to make the latter more flexible and viable. I did it with Chaos Dragons before and it worked like a charm. Now, I combined it with Rokkets and it still works great. I've also seen some builds combining Dragonmaids and BB. It's okay.
@@lonelywolf5659 evidently, BB is pretty much always Just stronger than blue eyes. 1? It's 100 stronger. Got Ultimate? At minimum 4 dragons in their deck and Grave usually... 100 stronger than Ultimate
@@GoldenNovaYugioh Union Carrier would still be a problem. Heck, there was an easy combo in Cyber Dragons that stunned the oppponent for a full turn involving it, Wattfox, and the rank 5 Artifact XYZ monster. Gave that OTK deck a turn 1 play that was even more brutal than a ton of negates.
@@GoldenNovaYugioh Ahmmm....... more like "Had Union Carrier ONLY be capable of Equipping Union monsters" (as its name implies) then it wouldn't have been a problem
I hope we get more Buster Blader support tbh. Personally, I think it would be cool to see Buster Whelp get some kind of Level 7 “Dragon Ruler” retrain of sorts. Buster Whelp, Dragon Buster of Blades.
There;s also the option of running Sage with eyes of Blue and Mausoleum of White. Sage can search Whelp and Mausoleum can get it on the field with its summon effect.
BB's lil hoody thing looks a lot like Dark Magician's, maybe if they're friends they also go to the school at Endymion's citadel but just take different courses? chaos magic for DM and dragon slaying via familiars for BB???
Considering how much of his head it covers, I'd wager the (theoretical) reason for the crest is specifically to deflect Dragon claws, teeth, and breath. If it's strong enough it stops the claws from follow through on his head and neck, as well as preventing the dragon from biting down on it. Even the massive spike would make it hard for a dragon to bite vertically due to how big it is. The triangle shape so he can just turn around to part dragonfire around his head. And considering how massive Welp's parent seemed to be, it did the job for him.
what do you think they need? i personally think another searcher and maybe 1 way to give themselves protection (like say, a destruction sword card you can discard to protect them)
My favorite Yu-Gi-Oh monster since I was a kid. This card used to save me because all my friends who played with me back in the day ran super heavy dragon decks. I love this video 🙌🏾🔥. Buster Blader forever!
Do you know what is Ironic? Me running A Buster blader engine in my Dragon Link deck so I could end on Sword master and Buster dragon to floodgate my opponnent, along side the Seal and Savage setup.
If you use a Dragunity combo you'll get Buster Whelp way more consistently using Gae Dearg. It's very fun, my board usually ends on Seal, Savage, Hot Red Abyss, and Prologue face down, sometimes even Number 38.
Yo, If dark magician and buster blader are from the same universe, then a dark magician buster blader deck would be freaking sick. Excuse me, time to make a new master duel account
Ah the legendary dragon hunter one of my favorite boss monsters that yugi used. There so cool question Nova for you and your girl...... Which Yu-Gi-Oh monster would you like a plushie of mine would be welp Also Meklords need a field spell that treats all extra deck monsters as Synchro monsters that will be nuts
Anytime I see Buster Blader getting some love, I gotta like! Awesome work man! I never knew his archetype synched well with Dragmas! Also, rebirth judgement is immediately going into my deck in master duel 😂
Since Im not broke to afford Dragoon and Dogmatika package. I like the resident sleeper Halq combo version. Its shper consistent surprising. You end on Savage, FA Dawn Dragster, plus Buster Dragon and the fusion. The combo also puts a dragon in gy by going into Phonon Pulse Dragon instead of Crystron Quandax. You only want to cry when you open Coltwing 😢
This was the first video I ever watched of you a few months ago and ever since I discovered one of my best friends loves Yu-Gi-Oh and Master Duel just recently released I want to build a buster blader deck because I’ve always loved that card and seeing all the new stuff is amazing.
You know on the topic of the Magical Citadel, does anyone else think that Crusader of Endymion's armor looks oddly SIMILAR to Buster Blader's? Particularly in the coloring, the red gemstones and especially the prominent raised metal 'hood' behind the head. What if Crusader represents an attempt by Endymion to imitate or replicate Buster Blader in one of his followers? Or heck, what if it's the other way around and Crusader is in fact a YOUNGER Buster Blader, BEFORE he took up the Destruction Sword and became the dragon-slayer we know him as?
Eldlich players may laugh when they think I attached Dragon Buster Destruction Sword to my Colossus but they scoop when they find out it was actually Wizard Buster. Try it out in Thunder Dragons, it’s pretty sweet.
Who would win, an onslaught of ancient terror and power, renowned throughout cultures as a creature that can rend the skies and bend the very elements to their will? OR One Swordy Boi
Does the swordy boi have a gigantic impractical sword? If so then I'm 100% sure that he's a Shounen Protagonist and has plot armor for such occasions :P
18:25 I know I’m a little late but if you don’t mind me sayin’ I kinda disagree, I think “karma of the destruction swordsman” is quite fittin’. Jus as you said about adoptin’ the whelp it ties into the lore of Buster Blader. Buster Blader had taken the whelp thinkin he was savin it from a much larger predator, in reality he stole the dragons offspring. Buster Blader had at that point finally found a companion and cared for the whelp but I believe subconsciously he thought it’d help him on his mission on becomin the greatest warrior ever if he tamed the dragon and fought along aside it. Buster Blader took the whelp or now “Buster dragon” on many battles and adventures but corruption took over and it went on a rampage. I personally believe it was Buster Bladers “karma” that he ended up havin to fight a dear friend of his because he never stopped to consider the feelings of the whelp when he took it on countless quests and had it witness the slaughter of its kind.
Somthing I like to do is run a copy of Dark Magician with "Give and take" and "Hand Destruction". That way if I have destruction sword Fusion with buster Blader on the field I can summon dark Magician from the grave to my opponents field to make a flex Summon of dark paladin or the destruction Swordsmaster if I go with buster whelp
Videos like this only help me remember why I say yugioh have the best card art of any game, period. Look at cards like "Destruction Sword of Memories", "Swing of Memories", "Terraformation"...
Lore theory: the skilled magicians are to summon legends of powerful champions via spell counters, this being the reason of the spell counter on them, and I think that is also the reason of the new magistus lore since they were only able to summon destacable champions and not summon freely, in search for a way to summon freely they received the book from iwass and opened a portal so magistus came to be
buster blader is dragon hunter and gaia ride dragon so does he classified same level as buster blader ? And do you think they would be friends if they meet?
Buster bb is one my favorite cards ever from the anime. The archetype as a whole always felt incomplete. Whelp is the only good starter. The different destruction sword monsters are neat in that they come in different types but it would’ve been better to just keep them all dragon in case u need to fusion quickly.
Just a thought on the Pitch Black Power Stones, They might just have started out as magical batteries that are used for utility (such as the platforms in Royal Magical Library or the barrier over the statue in Arcane Barrier ) or supplemented a spellcasters power when summoning other creatures to fight in there place (see the Skilled Magicians & Miracle Restoring) but Endymion saw the potential of turning them into weapons, with the first probably being Mega Ton Magical Cannon. But not all cards with Spellcounters have any Power Stones, such as Disenchanter, Power of the Guardians, Tower of Babel, and most notably Spellbook Star Hall. (as well as Dark Valkyria, Hannibal Necromancer, and Legendary Flame Lord but they have orbs on them that might be Power Stones but we can't see the triangle that denotes the branding).
That's a good point. I think it might be useful to think that Spell Counters are just generic spell energy, but then you have things with the Endymion Mark that pretty clearly tie it to that universe. Otherwise it's a whole different universe, OR it's just spell energy that's not being tied to Power Stones. Which doesn't really narrow things down, when it comes to determining what is or isn't in the Magical Cities world, but that the best I can think of atm xD
@@GoldenNovaYugioh No, I agree that they may be in the same world just different contents (because even with magical transportation how many times would the ordinary folk leave there country or even just there county or even walled city with what's out there). I'm thinking that in Endymion's student days spell counters were a thing but why would you focus on that when you can do something that is seen as more productive/powerful in spellcasting, Endymion is just the guy who refined it into something truly terrifying.
Okay, but how about the fact that if the Skilled magicians imply that the card theyre supporting is from Endymion then Skilled Red Magician implies the entire archfiend archetype is from that world. So like, does the include Red Dragon Archfiend?
Okay, here we go, ill just make a list: -"Bustin' makes me feel good", wow, you can put that in a whole nother context -Rata was right, they should have called it Nasty Knife instrad of destruction sword -wow, this archetype is really busted, im sure no one has ever mad that joke before... -buster blader? more like buster smasher amirite boys? -wait? there are cards besides dragon buster destruction sword? that thing belongs to an archetype? -oh hey, why didnt they call it nostalgia blader?
talk about the lore the story is heartbreaking... welp mom attack buster blader Save welp who then become his friend and companion then he get corrupted growing and become buster dragon... who the blader had to kill then they fuse remembering the time together and the Welp stay with him as a soul protecting him
You railed off on the lore towards the end. Also several cards didn't get that much lore. Honesty teared up a little when I saw the card "karma of the destruction swordsman" . At that point I kind of just stopped paying attention to what you were saying.
All the Buster Whelp forms should've only gotten their equip effects if equipped to "Buster Blader" (not a "Buster Blader" monster so the Fusion couldn't benefit). If Dragon Buster Destruction Sword's effect wasn't generic, we'd probably still have Union Carrier. I mean, I guess there's still the issue of "Union Carrier, equip Dawn Knight, do Herald Draitron stuff", but that's nowhere as bad as being able to lock out your opponents entire Extra Deck. Also on a semi-related topic, we have a BB DM Fusion (Paladin), and a Gaia Fusion (Cavalry). Where's the Summoned Skull/Archfiend DM Fusion (Archfiend Magician of Darkness/Archfiend Dark Magician)?
Yeah, Union Carrier was bad for a LOT of reasons, but would have been way less bad if it couldn't cause a Domain Lock. And yeah, Konami, give us the DM fusions!
