Did someone else came here after that crazy (almost miniature) game where Nepo beat Alireza in King's Gambit? That was really something cool, both sides played crazy "Romantic chess" which is so rare to see these days.

Great, Kings gambit is my fav. Going so deep into line that is 'rare', maybe should show more side lines instead of D5 played my opponent. Feels bad that only playing for a draw with white.

After 1.e4 - e5 / 2.f4 - exf4 / 3. Nf3 - g5 / 4. h4 - g4 / 5. Ne5 - d6 / 6. Nxg4 - Nc6! ... Black is on winning Position. Even WC will have Problems to hold draw with white. It is better to play 1.f4. Because after e5 white is on winning.

What engine are you using? Stockfish 11 at 28 depth has 7. Nc3 as completely even and Black's only moves to keep it even are 7...h5 and 7...Nf6 Edit: I'm also a relatively new player and have no idea if Stockfish 11 at 28 depth is that great. But that was the best I could do with my time and resources.

As an average player, everytime I play King's gambit it worsens my position. I find Queen's gambit better than this.

Nepo is just winging it and has no faith in the King's Gambitl? Yeah great, thanks for the help and awesome analysis.

At our level the Kings Gambit is just playable because of blunders from black. If the traps don't work the kings gambit is sadly refuted :(. Nepo shows the only way/lines where the Kings gambit is somehow not instantaneously losing and white can do smth at top level. That's the reason nepo isn't hyping it. (this only is relevant in classical games)
