Love your to-the-point reviews They save me lot of money too I love the Neptunia serie but I also don`t want to throw my money away for games that aren`t on par with the original games, which i found very good
It's a shame that this series hasn't really improved much over recent years. I'd rather see less games of higher quality then these mediocre games constantly churned out.
Honestly the last good Neptunia I played was Victory 2, why dont they just make another Fairy Fencer with the same battle system or get Death End Requests battle system
The decent thing in DE;RQ was that you didn't have to wait until levelling up to unlock new skills, using different combos had a probability of creating new skills (For example, a certain combo would unlock the "revive"), so it'd be nice if they implemented this into a future Neptunia game (Because 2 had level skills too)
Thanks for the great review. Very thorough review right to the point. I had to re-edit my post. Because playing the game for a couple hours. I actually enjoyed it quite so. Yes the characters have not really evolved that much within the last couple of games. But I guess that's why I like it so much personally. They're stereotype personalities are hilarious. There's not too many video games out there I'll just start laughing out loud there's a certain style to their delivery that I do enjoy. They're never give up spirit, is quite refreshing. Now when we are talking about game shooting mechanics. They definitely feel very floaty hit detection is off, but you do get used to it after a while. Like I said I only have a couple hours into it so I do not know about that in-depth game mechanics of the vtubers. But for the one that I collected seems like they give you special bonuses. Overall I'm enjoying the game so far if you like the series and if you love funny dialogue. And you don't mind the gameplay hit or miss. This game may be right up your alley.
yeah...i appreciate how willing they are to experiment but uh...idea factory (and all the devs they farm out the side games to) really aren't great at non-rpgs. I'd argue the best side game by far was sega hard girls, why? cause its...still a jrpg at heart, just with a majora's mask style time loop mechanic. Super Neptune RPG likewise has major problems, but it stole its combat system from valkyrie profile and...thats a real good combat system, so that really helped the game along. but these action games, action unleashed, blanc+zombies, cyberdimension...all end up being nice ideas executed very poorly. I've played them because I love the characters but...its getting old. But hey the first PS5 entry is coming in a few months! and its....ANOTHER remake of the first game. I quite enjoy ReBirth 1, but...come on, lets see a new damn game, Megadimension was nearly 6 years ago now, and as fun as that was, it still felt incredibly archaic in its design, I know this is a budget series but all the same...
I guess it's just common that these games full of cute anime girls are just bland in gameplay... i wanna say there's something out there video game wise where you can have a game full of cute girls without sacrificing the actual gameplay... but i can't really think of any... It just fills me with smiles though to just see the narratives of these cute anime girls, generally in any form. From digimon cyber slueth to senran kagura i love visual novel like appeal put to attractive anime peoples.
Isn't the NEXT Neptunia game coming also like a re re remaster of the PS3 game? I foresee a very low score incoming for that one based off how cut throat Azario was in this review, being already tired of compile heart not making any forward progress. 😲
afraid so, I really love the vita remake of the first game but...I really don't need to play ANOTHER remaster of it. Unless its CE has really cool shit i'll probably skip that too, at least until its cheap.
The only problems I have are that they pretty much butchered the NEXT outfits (For real, the NEXT Form hat on Blanc doesn't suit her base form's brown hair), and that the VTubers don't play a bigger role, only appearing to cheer you on in battle
This is something that specifically had to be done for this game as it is technically a crossover with actual Japanese VTubers being featured in the game. And there are a TON of them in this game, so the prospect of forming an agreeable, working contract AND producing the volume of voice talent to dub is just too much for IFI to pull off.
@@florestin777 Ah yes, good point! Still gutted a Neptunia game won't have Melissa Fahn. Also they could still have done it without dubbing the vtubers and written in some meta jokes about why legally they're the only ones speaking Japanese. If there's any series that kind of humour would fit it's this one!
@@florestin777 i get that but you could always just leave them in japanese while dubbing the rest of the cast, or leave them silent when set to english, iirc, the vita games have a LOT more voiced dialog in japanese than english, so that's not a new concept for them. Its not a deal breaker by any means, but still, i'm quite fond of the dub cast.
@@florestin777 I thought of this first, but after playing the game, this just seems like an excuse. All the Vtuber stuff (besides the 2 main characters who are Vtubers) were simply put in as very short cameos, and hardly ever interacted into the main story, or the main cast. I honestly felt leaving these pointless cameos undubbed would have been an easy solution.
what the hell no English dub? Almost pretty much every single game they've ever made was both English and Japanese and now they're opting to take it out I hope they don't do this cuz atelier did that and that just seems really like annoying

Having played though the game, the Vtuber aspect is so tiny (limited to loading screens and few cameos) they really could have left it undubb sine all the vtubers in the game people watch in japanese anyway.
Having no English dub or no substance in the story doesn't impact me, but hearing that the gameplay isn't too great does. Was there nothing redeemable about this even from the lens of a Neptunia fan?
I just derived no joy from it, combat felt especially hastily scrapped together in this one. Enemies all felt the same to fight, and it just became a mindless spam fest. It can be a fun side activity if you're playing a video or something in the background but that's kinda it for me.
yeah...as shallow as combat was, at least the story in blanc vs zombies was great, ditto, to a lesser extent for cyberdimension, this just feels boring all around. I'll still play it but might wait a few months for a sale, this really doesn't feel worth $60, especially when I still have Bravely 2 and Strikers to fulfill those needs.
