nero has been my fav band since i discovered them in 2011 (i think) but i come across this gem today only after an instagram post. what a masterclass again from them
It's called Dubstep if the BPM is around between 130-140 (BPM = Beats Per Minute) Drum 'n' Bass is at 170-180 (Though, it used to be from 160-180) Drumstep has the same BPM as Drum 'n' Bass, however the setup of the beat is that of dubstep (The placement/timing of the snare and kick) Electronica (which SOME people call Electro) is just the overname (or archive-name, which'ever word pleases you) for the genres that is made with electronic devices (this includes House, DnB, Dubstep, etc.) :3
@mrlectrofox it didnt ever "start out" as dubstep. for it to start out as dubstep it would sound a little like "this way" (by nero) and than change into DnB
@Kryteriadnb It's set by the drums and also like you stated BPM. You can have an electro song with 170-175 bpm but the beat that will not make it DnB. Drum n Bass is jungle drumming set to 170-175 bpm but I've also seen jungle drumming and done jungle drumming at 140-145 bpms. We use metronomes to time ourselves.
@BumGravy69 i been loving dnb for along time, but the song that pushed it into the realms of obsession was 'tear you down' by the brookes brothers. absolutely love that song man, its amazing
@EpicGamer92 whole heartedly agree, although Nero is actually a duo. I think they attended a premier music school, maybe Juilliard, but I'm not sure of that.
why are people arguing about what is proper to put in a comment, and what is the right comment... and who knows best... coment to tell others what you think is great about this track... tell other experiences! because this track is great ! and the artist deserves respect !
This is what it sounds like when i take a crap, so much anticipation, clouds part, the sun peaks through, Angels singing and then BOOOOOM BLUB BLUB BLUB
This Drum & Bass. Case closed :L Man the internet is hilarious, just how much ignorance is out there. Try educate yourself before telling others they are wrong. That way civilised conversation comes about :D
My knowlage of Dubstep is this. Dubstep is a form of many genre's, and cultures. Regge, Dub, Drum and bass, Techno, Grime and Garage. It's slow kick and snare, is from the Garage side, with the dirty synth and bass from the drum and bass side. If anyone wants to see what dubstep used to be back in the late 90's early 2000's, then look for Joe Nice, he's got some sick mix's of real old school stuff
@fezzin1992 Dubstep has roots in dub, reggae, DnB, 2step, garage, hiphop and even more genres. all tracks include some of them but no tracks include all of them. the thing that makes it clear if it's dubstep or not is that it either has a two-step beat or a halfstep beat.
@forseengreatness First of all, it's genre not "genra" and not "branches" but a sub-genre. Secondly, never stated I didn't enjoy Dubstep which in this case this particular song is not. I have to thank-you though, you're a great example and have proven my point of the ignorance that has been infesting this genre the past year and this.
@choppageworshipper ... ... ... You're not serious I hope? Try pre-1900s. Ferruccio Busoni, Stockhausen, Olivier Messiaen, Andre Jolivet, Luigi Russolo, Laurens Hammond who invented the electronic Hammond organ in 1930, and Thaddeus Cahill who developed the Telharmonium - a device which worked on a basis of additive synthesis patented before 1900 - all contributed to electronic music after the turn of the century.
Yeah everything you said is correct. My reply was regarding him saying dubstep has been around since the 90's. I know very well the genre's dubstep originated out of (many of which were big in the 90's) but to say it has been around since the 90's is false.
Horsepower Productions did release Dubstep in early 2000's but there first Dubstep LP was 2002 not 2004! But they were originators just progressing the Dubstep that had been about before then, Dubstep was the darker side of drum and bass mixed with the garage 2 step, Just because the "official" term/name was about since early 2000's doesn't mean the music itself wasn't from before then.
@fezzin1992 it started off as remixes of garage tracks and took the 2 step and halved it to make it half step. it also took inspiriation from jamaican dub such as the bass and lack of vocals. hence DUB-STEP
@TehzOfficial The audio is not low quality, just the picture quality. They are 2 different settings in the output file. Learn to use your ears bro. This goes for all of you who liked his comment also.
@rossidnb Well technically dubstep doesn't originally come from Drum & Bass. Surprisingly, it comes from garage and dub. But I know what you mean, there's more drum & bass style dubstep now.
This is what it sounds like when i take a crap, so much anticipation clouds part, the sun peaks through, Angels singing and then BOOOOOM BLUB BLUB BLUB
in my opinion its a simple mix between DnB and Dubstep, because it obviously has a DnB beat, but it definately has Dubstep a bassline. So its Dnbstep, you guys can think of some creative name for it, but end of descussion, its a mix.
@dirtbiker2868 drumstep is about the beat not the bass. If the beat is half that of drum and bass then it is drumstep but if just sounds like dnb with a wobble then its still dnb
