Here is a closer look at an awesome book that goes over the NES endings for every NES game from 1985-1989. This book is a "comprehensive look back at the ending of every single game released for the Nintendo Entertainment System from the system's 1985 launch through the end of 1989."

I appreciate you taking your time to review the book, John. I know book videos don't get you much views, but it's always pleasant to hear you talk about things you like.

Yeah one of my favorite NES games is also Super Mario Bros 3. I haven't beaten it yet. One of my favorite NES games is Dr. Mario and Kirby's Adventure. Those I have beaten and seen the endings. Others that I have seen the ending and are great games that I love off the top of my head are Megaman 3,5,6, TMNT 3, Dodgeball and Nintendo World Cup.

Yes and no. The old book was 126 pages long and only covered the years 1985-1988. This new book (by a different publisher) is almost 300 pages and covers the year 1989. This book replaces the old one and all future volumes will be through this publisher.

I don't like how it's only games he's beaten. Books like this should be by experienced players like the Mexican runner who's beaten them all..but still cool

What other games should the book include if it's not the games I've beaten? I'm not understanding the comment.

@@reyvgm I mean, you should pick a year, spend the time to beat em all, write, publish it. Why have to go back again in another book when you can just make a definitive edition guaranting a no reason why not sale....when I worked as a writer and review creator for Nintendo power I was always 2 issues ahead making sure every IP had a writeup and coverage. Nowadays you can emulate, navigate, and replay any game on earth almost but I couldn't see how u couldn't do them all, even with the research mostly already complete on www all you need to do is watch and ask some questions if need be. It's not a first ever coverage of unknown unbeatables. Half the 35 to 50 year olds know about them

@@retropalooza I'm sorry, but I'm still not understanding your point. I've been playing NES games since 1987 and I've beaten over 3000 games across different consoles. I've beaten almost the entire NES library already. The book is about NES endings, so of course I have beaten the games already. It's really unfair for you to compare the army of employees that worked at Nintendo Power, each with their own task, with little old me doing pretty much everything on my own. Is your complaint that the book should have included ALL of the NES endings, is this what your comment is about? I have to put in question the fact that you worked at a magazine at all if that's what you're saying because you should know paper isn't free and it takes actual physical space. If this book, which covers 4 years, is already 300 pages long, how many pages do you think the rest of the years will take? Are you aware that by 1989 there were 247 games released, but in 1990 alone there were an extra 200 games? That's an additional 300 pages just for 1990 alone. And 1991-1994 had almost 260 games released. That's almost 400 more pages there. There's no publisher in the world that will release 1,000 page book and there's no one in the world that will pay the amount of money it would cost to buy it. If that's what you're expecting or if you think the entire NES library would fit on a 300-page book, then you're talking out of ignorance.
