Yes it does. All Nintendo carts take the 3.8mm bit, except for a handful of NES carts that require a phillips head.

Yes, I have seen this before and it works well when done properly. It really isn't necessary, more of a nice to have. Those batteries last for years.

No flux, narrow ass tip for the iron, cheap solder braid, wrong battery pins. This is clownish. Recommending a bodge wire if you can jank the battery in. Recommending that the battery doesn’t need to sit correctly because other components stick out. Cleaning paste with metal filings??? All you need is a rubber eraser, isopropyl alcohol and qtips. DO NOT do what this guy does. You will ruin your carts.
