You are one of the FEW people who has been fully honest about the pods and the flavouring and I love that you mentioned if the name is pronounceable, it's not worth it; definitely my new go to rule for Nespresso lol. Thank you for the content! Please do share your sweet cream recipe, it looked really good!!
That or make it a couple's video. At first, she was able to speak and as the video progressed, he would chime in every single time. One at a time, please.
Just saw this this vlog. It’s old. But yeah. Whose channel is this. But the reason I am commenting is. Your taste buds must be very different from mine because I’d love those three flavors that you and your husband did not like. Plus the ones that you did like I don’t like. But again different strokes for different folks. And I’ve tried to make hazelnut milk. Too tedious removing the skins from the hazelnuts. I’m glad your mother doesn’t mind. Anyway good luck
I’m using the reusable pod (the one you showed) with coffre grind especially for Nespresso (my coffee bar suggestion). It comes out nearly the same with créma and intense black coffee from Ethiopia (which I love). There’s two size of reusable pod, a 230 ml (ordinary) and a 80 ml (double expresso). You have to try out the combination of coffee, grind and quantity to get the best out for your reusable pod.
The foam created by a Nespresso is not créma. It is coffee foam. The créma on an espresso comes from CO2 extraction. The foam on a Nesspresso drink comes from whipping air into the coffee. The grounds in a Nespresso pod have been sitting around for a while, they're not freshly ground, they don't have much if any CO2 left in them. It's kinda lifeless coffee, so Nespresso does the whole spin trick to whip some air into the brew and give you that standing coffee foam which looks like créma, but isn't. When grinding your own coffee, so maybe it actually has some life, into the pod, you still don't get créma. You still only get coffee foam. This is because you need a bloom phase and high pressure (over 6 bars) to form créma from the CO2 in the coffee. That's what an espresso machine will do with pre-infusion and then the high-pressure (6 to 9 bars of pressure) brew phase. By comparison, a Nespresso machine goes to 0.5 bars.
Melozio is my favorite so far. I’ve only been able to try a couple of pods from my mother in laws nespresso. I’m finally getting my own nespresso and I bought 10 sleeves of different pods!
I have been debating getting one this helps I love the back and forth chatter from you two this way you seem to cover more thoughts keep up the good work ☕️
Hi thank you!! I have this thing in my online cart for the last day or so now I feel comfortable getting it. So far Bed Bath and Beyond has the best deal for the combo since I have the 20% coupon makes it about $175.
I bought my Vertuo Plus at Walmart a few days ago for $99 with 12 sample pods and a $10.00 coupon code for Nespresso pods!! No frother, but I bought a really nice one on Amazon with all the same features.
Love your videos . I use this sown oat milk creamer and it's incredible. Always use my frother on hot setting .. Melozio is the only one that's mellow enough for my taste .
The Vertuo machines capsules have a bar code on the rim the machine scans which is how they know how to brew the perfect cup based on the type of capsule it is.. They use centrifugal brewing meaning the capsule spins.. the original line uses bar pressure and keurig uses garbage water drip/filter coffee and you get no crema and imo watered down coffee.
You seem to be the right person to ask. I want to get a Vertuo Plus machine. I don’t know who makes your machine but I am debating between the Breville and the DeLonghi Vertuo Plus machines. After reading many many reviews/videos i understand that one makes hotter coffees than the other. Since you have a Vertuo Plus machine I’m wondering if you could be kind enough to take the temperature of a cup of coffee right after it completes its brew in the cup (preferably the 7.7oz.). If not i understand. I’ve enjoyed your Nespresso videos a lot. Thx🙃 P.S. I would luv to hear temps from other machine owners. Pls let me know which VertouPlus machine you have. It’s great to be able to ask questions from actual product owners. Thx everyone!
whattt I love the hazelnut, caramel, and vanilla custard!! the hazelnut one is super good with some chocolate sauce & a splash of hazelnut syrup & some almond milk!!
if you like biodegradable check out these foils they allow you to reuse your vertuo capsules ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iXBw9nIz_EE.html
Oh my god I thought I was the only person who hates that whole barista creation line 😂 because I’ve seen how much people rave about them but I really can’t comprehend how lol They were not good at all I could handle that weird after taste. They only good pod from that whole line is Bianco Forte in my option.
I don’t get it. All that milk and sugar. Starbucks has a deal with Nespresso. Their 7.7 oz. Colombian is better than Nespresso Colombian. Deep, rich luxurious flavor straight black. Why would I want to hide all that goodness and spoil one of life’s pleasurable treasures?
I love our Nespresso! I think I found your channel from your initial review when I got mine. 🤔 one of my current faves is also the Ethiopia Master Origins pod. Not quite as strong as an espresso shot, but is the perfect size for an iced latte! Really tasty. 😊 I also like to put some course raw sugar in so you get the sweet crunchy bits through your straw... 🤤
IMPORTANT : Nespresso is easy to use, that's the only advantage. If you're a true coffee "aficionado", there is no way you will like this system. I've tried some of the best reviewed pods (Tokyo, etc.). I've also tried some of the strongest pods (Illy strong, etc.). At the end of the day, you barely get 20-30% of the flavor compared to a quality coffee you would get from freshly ground quality beans (recently torrefied) and a good extraction (correct brewing temperature and pressure). If you're not a real fan of coffee and want to pretend to be a barista, this machine could be for you. If you're European or into third wave coffees, avoid Nespresso. I bought this machine for my dad who has Alzheimer.
i have! the bianco line is pretty good but we really didn’t like the vanilla, caramel and hazelnut flavored ones. the coffee flavor also isn’t as prominent as the espresso shots
I agree. The vanilla custard pie is gross. I've tried it half a dozen times now. The caramel cookie I can tolerate but I don't like it either. Not worth the money. I just stick to the single and double expresso and make a latte every morning.
So I’ve been using mine and now all the flavors and pods taste like chemical. Does anyone have this issue? They are sending me a new one but I just bought it 4 months ago. I cleaned it descaled everything. So I’m like don’t really want to throw it out
I’m looking into getting this machine. Are the pods lactose free? I’m not a latter drinker but more of a plain light roast coffee lover. Is this worth getting? I like a plain coffee with slight chocolate flavor as an after taste.
They're just coffee so you're good! ❤️ if you just like plain coffee though I don't know if I'd invest in this. I personally like it for espresso and milk based drinks.
I think it is remiss to not mention that Nespresso is a Nestle company, and needless to say Nestle is a horrible immoral corporation that has done more harm on this planet than you could imagine. So for those of you that vote with your dollar you might wanna rethink this purchase and take a pass.
Your S.O. in the background takes away from your video. His voice is annoying and he doesn't contribute much to the video content. If he insists on being in the video, at least come on camera. Listening to this weird voice in the background while you stare off to the side really takes away from the video. Otherwise, great work.
They are called capsules.. they also recycle capsules to make all sorts of things such as a bicycle. It's also not foam, its crema that captures the aroma and coffee oils
This is adorable and painful to watch. To see young people rationalize Starbucks as an option for coffee or espresso tells us where we are in society. Nespresso makes an excellent cup of espresso for what it is. There is no comparison to Starsucks. Starbucks literally burns there coffee in the roasting process to achieve uniformity in their beans and brand across the globe. And they use low quality beans with high caffeine compared to higher quality more expensive beans. It's not coffee, it's marketing. Nespresso is the lesser of two evils but you are still a slave to their branding. Here is what helped me focus on what good coffee is. If you need to milk or sugar in the coffee to tamp down the acidity bitterness or fruitiness you are drinking bad coffee. If you are nervous , anxious or irritable - cleaning your apartment incessantly for hours - your coffee is shit and full of caffeine. No caramel. Stop it. Coffee is relaxing and delicious. It's not a recipe for type II diabetes.
I wouldn't say the lesser of two evil. Nespresso does the same, their coffee is incredibly dark and overpriced, as their point is to bait you with a cheap machine and make their money using pods.
@@benjaminparent4115 That’s why I like gettin’ over on them, re-using the pods with my own quality coffee, saving so much money. I’ve been using Starbucks Colombian 7.7 oz. pods from Amazon, $40.00 a month just for me. Been saving the used pods for a month, just today pulled the trigger. I didn’t think the coffee could get any better but fresh ground is the way to go, for $9.00 a month.
It makes both! She doesn't mention it but another RU-vidr said it reads the barcode on the bottom of the pods and disperses the right amount of water at the right speed and temperature, which is why it takes a little longer to brew.
Y’all we’re too cute! Shelly on camera with the useful commentary from the off-camera person-great combo, informative, and entertaining. Thanks for the tips and whatnot!
Imo I really like the Starbucks blonde roast vertuo pods, and I also enjoy the foam. I used not be able to drink coffee without syrup or flavoring but ever since I started making it at home I actually really like it
Totally agree on all those pods that sound like baked goods! I can’t even really tell the difference between them. Also I tried out the limited edition Italian ones that came out around Christmas (pecan biscotti and amaretti) and those ones were terrrrible. Think I’m going to stay away from the baked goods ones from now on
Me watching this right after placing an order for the vanilla custard pie and caramel cookie 🫠 at least the Melozio will save me from complete failure! 🤦🏻♀️
