Luciano had the greatest voice of all times 🙂. Every time ☺️ he sang a song his voice out did anyone else....... Truly he is the King 👑👑👑👑👑👑👑 of opera.
I heard Pavarotti in a solo recital at Indiana University in 1975 and will never forget it. A critical audience of knowledgeable and advanced musicians, including singers who had performed on the world's top stages, recognized that here was something rare: the world's best tenor in his prime. I was "lifted" out of my seat before the last aria ended and was applauding wildly like everyone else -- I swear it would never have occurred to us to wait it out till the last note had finished.
Roger Martin Luciano was in his prime an excellent tenor, I must admit. I would also like to say that everybody is great at their prime time.. However, Alfredo Kraus was to me in the 60s and 70s the best example of art ad voice skill. Having said that. Luciano sung roles that Kraus would not there....
For all those who have doubts about how full and strong the voice was, this is a great example to understand why Luciano didn't need any microphones when singing at opera houses. His was a rich beautiful lirico-spinto voice, with harmonics that were unique, like a brilliant diamond. A real one of a kind. Just like Caruso.
Caruso Voice Broke many times; He was a True baritone whom could sing Tenor NOTin the UPPER REGISTER.. Luciano performed more years than Caruso & or Lanza LIVED.
The whole point of opera is to sing without microphones. Also, Pavarotti recorded absurdly well, so recordings aren't necessarily the best guide for how he sounded live. That being said despite having an average sized voice he never sounded small, as long as he sand the right repertoire. He was certainly no lirico-spinto. It is obvious from his high notes that he was no lirico-spinto. Filippeschi was a lirico-spinto, listen to his Nessun Dorma if you want to hear an actual lirico-spinto.
@@ILBARONE45 how Caruso broke his voice? He is a true dramatic tenor, he sings very well until dead, but LP was fool and chocked his voice such as that aria... He shouts here, suffering... Poor mosquitto... Don't try compare that mosquitto with Lanza! Lanza can sing all, Pavarotti ruined his voice, he became terrible...
🤣🤣🤣 You a true fan-boy, living in that dreams, like your mosquitto! He was lyric!!! And ruined voice in dramatic repertoire!!! He became a disaster of opera!!!
@@Monnarchmonnarchy Oh please. I presume you know everything. I heard Pavarotti live. Not a small voice at all. As you mistake squillo for yelling, I will refrain from further comments. You and your likes will worship Gigli and Bjorling, but God forbid if Luciano sang anything dramatic. Come on. You are incredibly self assured. Let us conclude that we do not agree.
Bravissimo come sempre ! Luciano Pavarotti (1935-2007) continues to bring joy to millions eleven years after his death at the age of 71. Thanks for posting this video.
I think, more like a superb conductor who kept the orchestra softer to allow that voice to fly! Tho, even thru the pianoforte of the orchestra, that resonating, round, voice kissed by God, is unmistakable!
Thank you for this- I was not even aware that he had sung this prior to his playing the role in 1979. It is very good, isn't it? An early Christmas present for all of us!
If this is 1976, the title is misleading. Pavarotti would have been 39/40 - that is not young. He had sung on tour with Joan Sutherland in 1965 which might have been considered young - 29 - for an opera singer.
You er very arrogant, you don`t even understand the words of the aria and judge. Here Pavarotti is fantastic period. I like Bjørling very much but here pavarotti is incredible
No exagero.
The sound is round and full. The voice seems ready to sing whatever you give it. Unfortunately he did not perform some roles he could have left a mark on: Don Jose in Carmen, Alvaro in La Foza Del Destino, Werther, Maurizio in Adriana Lecouvreur. Some of these he cancelled just before going on air. It would've been nice if any of these efforts would have been at least recorded( I don't speak about individual arias and duets he recorded).Who knows, maybe DECCA has something in their archives....
Why can't audiences wait until the tenor actually finishes singing the damn aria, yes this was in 1976, but it still goes on today. While we are on that subject there is also an Orchestra that I like to listen to let them finish as well.
