The Airstream design team knew they needed to partner with a fiberglass manufacturer capable of solving multiple manufacturing challenges and deliver Airstream-level quality. As part of our Partners in Craftsmanship series, learn the design challenges and creative solutions Goldshield Fiberglass implemented as they worked with Airstream to create a fiberglass shell that embodies Airstream quality and lasting value for years to come.

We are proud and problem free owners of a 2018 Airstream and have zero regrets and will never buy another SOB. Thank you Airstream for building one of the best travel trailers on the market.

Tony & Korrin Petersen I am thinking hard on the 22 Sport or the Flying Cloud 19 bunk... any suggestions or regrets would be greatly appreciated.. we currently have a one year old and possibly another child in the future. We love the brand and are looking for compact and versatile for our Tacoma and 4runner to handle. Thanks in advance!! And safe travels!!

Dillon Thompson It took us 3 years and two other trailers before deciding to purchase our wonderful Airstream. I wish we would have bought it 3 years ago and avoided purchasing the other two RV’s and losing that money and just not being happy because they were not an Airstream. We looked at the 22 sport and decided against it because it was so narrow, not standard rock shields and no rear bumper. I think the 19 is a great size and will have a lot of standard items for the little extra it costs, but it has to work for your family. Happy shopping and hope to see you out there one day. PS. The Airstream family and Wally Byam club have been the icing on the cake. A great way to meet so many wonderful and helpful people.

Tony & Korrin Petersen I completely agree with the 22 sport! I'm hoping the extras on the 19 with the bunk will compensate for the loss of length. Thanks so much for the response!! I'm in South Carolina where John's RV is the only dealer in the state and limited inventory.. so we are just relying on the internet for research for our purchase. I dont want to make the mistake of purchasing a terrible investment for my family.. So we are so thankful for people like you that can lend advice to us !!Thanks again and safe travels!!!

This is amazing I'm about to take an airstream nest and take it off of a trailer to put it on a Triton pontoon boat and I'm just going to flip it around to where the door is on the bow of the boat an the propane tank will be near the outboard motor. It'll be a small airstream nest on a pontoon boat frame. It'd be nice if Gold shield fiberglass would just sell and ship me the molds with Airstreams permission. They really need to put these things on boats so you can utilize it still as a mobile RV and a houseboat when traveling down the interstate. My other option would be to buy a 1971 Sealander 25 footer and just restoring one. But I really like the Airstream Nest and to to a project like this I know it would turn out nice. My plans are to flip it around and put it on a pontoon boat.would definitely the size definitely wouldn't be a problem it's just figuring out everything underneath the nest in making this all fall into place.

Isn't there away to make the mold of the camper when body is together? So it's not two pieces? Isn't bonding two pieces still a 2 piece fiberglass? Wouldn't it be stronger and lighter to do one piece?

Shooting the gel coat is the top dog spot. I'm guessing it tops out at $23 hr. Overtime mandatory.

Is the guy that designed and built the prototype get royalties or did airstream just buy it from him outright?

I'd want a supplied air respirator, thank you very much.

If dry, I’d agree. Wet keeps the fibers from becoming suspended in the air.
