I'm going with the other guy, cheese IS by default. You need the cheese as the adhesive foundation that binds the pizza dough with the toppings, otherwise the toppings would dry up and may fall off the dough.

I like how the one guy's argument was about the default and everyone just said cheese less pizza existed. And no one actually made an argument against it and actually agreed with him on several occasions. Also Charizard is the worst fire starter statistically, people made fun of it getting two megas, but it needed them.
