How to video on creating nested table objects that can grow and expand in Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES4. Nested tables can be a creative way to mimic complex data requirements in a form. For example: invoices, questionnaires, estimates, and many other dynamic content forms.

I lose information in subsequent rows after I add data, save and close the pdf. What could be the issue as to why the additional rows won’t save?

Nice video and still relevant in 2020. The right margin thing in nested tables is still an issue even in the current Forms Designer application. My work around has been to resize a left/middle column to push the right column to the right margin, then merge the cells.

Hi if I want to repeat the subforms, let it flow to next page with all the allowed page break option selected, but I would like the header to follow the label one to the next page (instead of breaking them up at the end n top of next page), what should I do?

Hi thanks you for the video. I have a problem with my nested tables. I can add new nested tables and everything works, but as soon as I enter data into the nested table and it expands it starts to cover the added nested table below. What setting am I missing here?
@Truetechtroubleshooting

+Tanya Beetge most likely you need to set the parent page or subform to “flowed”. If it is set to “positioned” you will have this problem.

Hi it is set on flowed? Flow Direction top to Bottom. Can you please PM me at ryca.bloem@gmail.com then I can show you screenshots of what I am having trouble with.

Question. When I make the exact same form as above, but then open in Adobe Acrobat and fill in the form and add a second or third row in the main table, add data and then save, the second or third row doesnt stay. Only the first row is visible when the form opens again. The other subsequent rows are missing. What am I doing wrong?

+BioDave1955 if you are attempting to save the form in Acrobat Reader, you will need to turn on "Reader Extentions" first. This is a limitation abode adds by default. If you have Acrobat Pro, you can open and use the "save as other" menu item to add this feature.

I did open the form in Adobe Pro and saved it as a reader extended document. It is still not working as it should. Would you be able to PM me at biodave1955@gmail.com and I can send you the form I created as well as screenshots of what is happening?

Hi there. I am seeing the exact same behaviour with a nested table I am working on. Any chance you can post an update of what you did to fix the problem. All looks fine in LiveCycle Preview debugger but in both Acrobat & Reader it is behaving exactly the same as above. Only the first row data gets saved. I have tried saving copies with Reader Extensions turned on and it made no difference. Other tables on the same form with repeatable rows (but no need for nesting) work as expected. Any help greatly appreciated.

@@Truetechtroubleshooting Was there ever a solution to BioDave1955's issues? I'm having similar issues and it's driving me insane. I'm not able to find any help online. Please let me know if there is a fix for this, thank you.
