The International Criminal Court's prosecutor Karim Khan said he had applied for arrest warrants for top Israeli and Hamas leaders over the conflict. Israel slammed as a "historical disgrace" the demand targeting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, while the Palestinian militant group Hamas said it "strongly condemns" the move. FRANCE 24's Kethevane Gorjestani gives us her analysis.

It will make Netanyahu and the Israëli defence minister pariahs in the world. Even more when the International Court of Justice honours South Africa's complaint against Israël. The US can huff and puff whatever they want but if they invite and celebrate Netanyahu in defiance of this warrant, they will blow up even more the 'international rules based order' it so eagerly mentions at every occasion and bring to light that all those high principles are abandoned when might is questioned.. The same is true for other western countries like the UK and Germany.

People need to understand that ends don't justify means. Not what soever are they blame of the primary offence but of the abuse of rule of laws over human beings. Priceley being a democratic nation should understand that the leadership works for the people who elected them. Therefore it is the leadership who should be head accountable and not their citizens to be punished back to back on a tick for tack situations where human lives are means of more attacks. The decisions escalated and probably put on risk the lives of people still in their control.
