It’s crazy that Koeman chose Weghorst over Zirkzee and Luuk De Jong. Plus I think Koopmeiners has to start over Reijnders, he’s probably the second best midfielder they have in the squad
@@menno7349 I knew Zirkzee was injured but couldn’t find any information about the severity of his injury and yeah I didn’t know the De Jong thing so thank you
He didn’t get a spot though sadly. Koeman preferred Blind over Maatsen for some reason that no one can follow. People here in the Netherlands were not happy about it
@@akwilson1676 Our offense is lacking in quality. Brobbey and Weghorst (just battering rams), Gakpo (inconsistent), Depay (always injured). Malen is good, but seems to be benchmaterial at BVB at the moment. We have offensive players of the same caliber that we have defensive or midfielders. We don't have a Kluivert, Robben, van Persie or Huntelaar anymore.
It does sound like the best option to me to go for counter attacks. Even if its not the Dutch way, Van Gaal played like that and they looked tough to beat. Now with the pace and quality of their strong wing players Dumfries and Frimpong they should cause any oppo headaches.
@@ghostrider-od6ls Yeah, which Top% defenders did we have during those years? Lets be clear, we had selected some good players (Boulahrouz, van Bronckhorst), but in terms of quality they were five steps behind our offense (Kuyt, RvP, Huntelaar, Robben). Now we have several top% defenders.. and are lacking in the front. But to clear, we came really far in '10 and '14..
summerville plays in the second division he never showed this quality in the prem albeit with not much playtime and kluivert and bergwinj. have lots of experience in the top leagues
This team was built for the fourfourfackingtwo Dyche haramball. World class defenders, pacy wingers and probably one of the best sides for set pieces due to sheer height. Could easily compensate for the lack of attack depth by just putting up a brick wall and then passing it to the wingers to run on the counter and bait set pieces.
Have you seen Verbruggen play in the recent friendly against Germany? An absolute brick wall in front of a relentless German attack and a leaky Dutch defense. Was by far the best Dutch player on that pitch. Netherlands' GK position is in good hands.
@@ricardomargera yes Huntelaar is a good one too, Kuyt is just examples. IMHO, if you look at those squad, none of them is good enough to become the goal getter like the players we mentioned before. CMIIW
@@ghostrider-od6ls 42 goals in 76 games and most of the games not even starting let that sink in... you can say what you want about Huntelaar but he was not ass for the dutch.
Netherlands have a solid defence and Midfield but in terms of attack they lack proper forwards. All they need is a striker like RVP and rudd van nistelrooy
This is how I would play them :- Formation - 3-5-2 GK : Verbruggen CB : Matthijs De Ligt CB : Virgil Van Dijk CB : Van de Ven RM: Jeremie Frimpong CM: Frenkie De Jong CM: Ryan Gravenberch LM: Cody Gakpo CAM : Xavi Simons ST: Memphis Depay ST : Donyell Malen
