Hinch deserved to become the best Olympian of all time in that game. I doubt there is a goalkeeper in the world who has saved so many great shots in one match. And to do it in an Olympic final against the strongest hockey team in the world! Unbelievable.

I just wish there would be more support and attention put into the women's rugby 7s team because that team is all young (most of them under 27) and got to back-to-back Quarterfinals and a few close matches against GB decided them getting knocked out. I just want to see them get more attention and support. If they did, that rugby team might have had a bigger shot at gold. At least they made it the quarters, sure, but quarters isn't what anyone wants. Next one, we've gotta dig deeper, we've gotta be better, gotta hit harder and go harder. Push ourselves to our limits. Get up earlier and go longer so that when those quarterfinals and semifinals are there, you're down by 6 or 5 and need a score to win it (like against GB), and know you're team is there for you, and you for them, so then they don't have to be afraid or worried because they all know that THEY ALL put in the work to be there. Then, it's just about finding a hole and getting in the open field.

This GB team is really something to remember. THIS GOLD medal was something that they REALLY DESERVED! Being from Argentina and of course being huge fan of Las Leonas and female hockey I watched GB loose a lot of finals and a lot of tournaments not even being in the top 3. After a tremendous 2012 ( bronce in Worlds, Silver Champions Trophy, Bronce in Olympics) it seemed that this team was done but they were ALWAYS A THREAT for any team out there. They never gave up, they kept working more and more! After beating Netherlands in the Europeans in 2015 i knew they would make history and they did.

Hinch is so clever in the shoot out. She deliberately waits for the opposition striker to stand on the line before slowly walking to the goal and smashing the posts with her stick. Just to let the Dutch player sweat, get nervous and over think. Genius

Incredibly proud of Team GB! After their heartbreaking loss to Australia for the Commonwealth Games Gold Medal they refocused, doubled their efforts and achieved this incredible reward. Such an inspirational story. Bravo Girls! Rx

Eu fui voluntária no Hóquei sobre grama, a final foi movimentada . Pena q tinha torcedores holandeses q deram trabalho ...foi chato ..tanto q eu tava torcendo para Gra Bretanha vencer . E venceram ! Emoção ter participado do Rio 2016 foi inesquecível. Principalmente na entrega das medalhas ... emocionante! Lindas imagens

Yes, it was a once in a lifetime event. GB had all the luck in the world and are unlikely to ever lift another Olympic or World Cup trophy in hockey.

Well the reason why 2nd place/Sliver is sadder than 3rd/Sliver is because the Netherlands were Olympic hockey champions since Beijing 2008 so am mean if u lose ur streak I’d be pretty upset too so it’s kinda valid for the Dutch players to but upset to become Olympic champions in London 2012 but then lose ur Olympic title in the next Olympic Games is kinda upsetting because you’ve built up some much so I can understand why the Dutch players are sad (but in the end Great Britain beat the Netherlands 2:0

Thanks for the upload. Wonderful to watch this game again and again. The Dutch obviously had better or best skills. But GB also deserved their gold, much and much effort. It is sport - genius is admired but effort can mend it up, sometimes with timely luck. Effort and resilience shall be appreciated and touches your heart. It is also why sports are amusing. BTW GB's keeper is the best and Pullman is the best woman player, ever, in my opinion.

The request for video referral for a back-stick was the wrong call, but there was a stick tackle from the Dutch Captain - at least a foot up the GB player's stick, that impeded the GB player and that should have been picked up on by the video umpire. A breakdown tackle just outside the shooting circle should have resulted in the award of a penalty corner.

Incredible game of the Netherlands. Played there best game ever. England had all the luck in the world and never deserved to win. Being a gold winner but not really being the winner thats the difference with the glorie Dutch! Revenge will be sweat in Tokio but England is not England anymore. No quality anymore. Neteherlands even become more greater and playing hockey from another level.

The Dutch team were great players but absolutely needed that lesson in humility. When the medals were presented the German girls were all so happy to have gained the bronze medal while the Dutch girls all looked like 5 year olds who had been told NO for the first time ever. Great players, terrible sportsmanship. Learn how to lose with grace. Shocking behaviour from some of the Dutch fans too. Your attitude sums up the Dutch, boastful and terrible losers. Hockey is about winning and playing the most of all letting everyone know your the best. The best is what the Dutch are. Being the best for centuries. Yes England we are the best. Last time England and the Netherland have meet turned out to a disaster for the British 0-8. The thing is England where you have lost quality cause of leaving players Holland just refreshing everytime with new players. We become even better. Again you won 2016 on the a whole way of luck. For now thats al you guys have to celebrate while Holland keeps on going en be European and World champion and will take back what belongs to them. The medaille you never deserved to win 😉.
