For there to be thousands of cavers around the world for you to have only 700 subscribers +- is a true shame. The quality of video and the spectacular dramatic content should be must viewing for anyone calling themselves a caver. I can't wait till you guys connect these two systems. Good luck.
Sorry its taken such a long time to reply. It certainly would be nice if our videos got viewed by thousands rather than a few hundred. I am unfortunately not savy enough to change things. Thanks for your support 😊
Hi Kieran - been checking each day for part two and now you've got me hanging on the edge of my seat for part three even though I know the connection's been made. Thanks for the great video.
...its been almost a month now since Vid 2 ! - Still hanging on in anticipation, to make that SP/NB connection... Thanks so much Kieran for the best, most amazing, most interesting, most unusual, exploration videos of NZ that I've ever seen !
@@KieranMckayNewZealandCaving Yay ! - Thanks Kieran ! - watched all your subterranean videos during the 2020 March April lock-down - may you continue to make many excellent new exciting cutting edge discoveries and videos, under New Zealand !
What scares me so bad is when I hear you guys say things like, “well if this doesn’t work we are all worn out and will climb out and go home.” And then, You cannot find your way out! How do you know that you always, ALWAYS CAN, FIND YOUR-WAY-OUT??????
I love your comments garland :-) We just use the Force and it seems to work quite well cause we always seem to get out :-) Seriously, navigating underground to many of us is not that hard. Yes you can be confused for a bit, I have been "lost" for an hour or so once in one cave. Generally though there is only one way or we are following a stream or wind. Often we leave small piles of rocks behind to mark the way or marker tape on survey stations.
I'm really enjoying these videos you guys have absolute balls of steel to travel so deep into the mountain and squeeze through such tiny passages. I have loads of questions, how do you not get lost if you're taking days of travel? Do you try and take some of your rubbish with you?
The caves can be really confusing. However if you have explored them you get to know them really well. Also we make maps of what we explore and you can use those maps to find your way around. As far as rubbish goes, our ethics are that we take, all rubbish out of the cave. This includes poo. We try our best to keep the cave tidy and protect the delicate areas.
@@KieranMckayNewZealandCaving Thanks for the reply, you really deserve more views. These video's are well put together with cut aways explaining your thought process. If you're underground for days do you have any way of knowing if it might be raining heavy above? Some of your videos you go through passages with just your mouth above the water, there must a chance of it flooding. Have you ever been cut off due to this?
@@KieranMckayNewZealandCaving I knew that's what you were going to say. It's obvious from your videos that the caves you enter are probably left cleaner than you found them, except for stirring up the water. On a related topic, I haven't seen much wildlife in your films. Are there no albino blindfish, crayfish, etc, in New Zeeland caves? Looking forward to connection video and ultimate connection of whole system to Moria.
These type of massive cave systems are created from Mega Titan creatures who have died and fossilized into the limestone and sandstone full of the Transition metals we use to build anything since the (Fe) iron age. The Titan dragon creatures 🐉are the origins of such mountain ranges as the Atlas Mts. in Morocco, Appalachians on east coast, the north Canadian Rockies (2 separate dragons) etc. many are over 2000 miles in length ! The level Earth is made of fossilized flesh from many types of Titans who died very long ago. People who die in these caves are a true sacrifice to an ancient Dragon, same for mountain climbers. Net search Pope Audience Hall, Vatican 🐲 lol... they've always known.
Sorry its taking a while. I wish I could do this full time, unfortunately I have other things further up the life list to do first :-) its coming though.
Thanks for your commentary about our country. We purposely voted in a govt that would come up with stupid policies so the rest of the world would stay away. That way we get to keep all this amazing countryside to ourselves 😁
@@KieranMckayNewZealandCaving Yeah enjoy your Klaus Schwab protégé of a president and enjoy your face mask and your lock-downs. That's ok someday you can rise up and do something about it...OH WAIT, they took your firearms too. My comment was in support of your freedoms brother...and you should have your country to yourself . It's yours.
Hi Roger, It wasn't that terrifying really. All part of the adventure :-) We had a great team and we looked after each other really well. Thanks for watching and posting a message.
