Seems like he’s more or less just reciting this from memory, rather than actually doing a thorough pre-trip. As fast as possible in his words. That clearly shows it’s not thorough.

1:35 water pump is gear driven NOT belt driven!!!

You made a mistake when you said water pump is belt driven... it’s actually gear driven.

So the truck is fully on and not just on electric mode when this is done??

NETTS is my Alma Mater graduating in September of 1990. Been grinding the gears ever since. Starting a new job (only my 3rd in 32 years) next week, and knowing a pretrip and roadtrip were part of the deal, came back "home" to brush up on a proper pretrip, thinking I may have pick up a few bad habits along the way. Very fast (haste makes waste) but very ineffective to me. No system, order or explanation to help a mechanically challenged person remember this.

A mediocre pre trip. He ,definitely , should not rush. He has missed a lot of parts, especially where he forgot to mention that the slack adjuster and a push rod should not have more than 1" of free play " WHEN THE BREAKS ARE RELEASED " .

He flew through this pretty quickly, but I will say his verbiage and terminology helps with that a lot. I think it would be a much more useful videos had he used a pointer to really show which pieces of equipment he was referring to in the engine bay.
