New creative art technique in mixed media | art technique with acrylic
- Pour some black acrylic paint and liquid coffee onto your canvas and spread the paint over your canvas.
- Now add some plaster, flex adhesive and a little instant coffee to the still wet paint. The instant coffee will later push through again and again from below, similar to mildew stains. Spraying with water dissolves everything well. After drying, you will see shiny dots in the close-up. This is the instant coffee.
- Not in the picture: Mask off a fifth of the black surface.
- This is followed by a layer of light (e.g. beige) acrylic paint (4/5 of the picture). Here, too, you can see the instant coffee in the close-up (these blotchy areas in the picture).
- Use a steel brush to scratch these into the paint, which gives it a used look.
- Now apply another coat of light blue acrylic paint. In between, pour in more flex adhesive and/or plaster, which you work into the paint with a spatula. The paint dries matt and slightly brightened by these two additives. They also give it a nice feel.
- Tape off another strip and paint it with yellow acrylic paint. Work in some flex adhesive again so that you can work the paint well again and add scratches to it.
- You can add more stripes in the colors you like in this way. *It's always nice and harmonious when the colors of the stripes are repeated somewhere in the picture.
- The last stripe is a dark brown, which I applied with a smoothing trowel.I kept picking up paint - sometimes just over the edge of the trowel - and applied fine and medium lines over the other colors.Only traces, fine dots and lines adhere to the raised areas (created by plaster and flex adhesive) and result in a wonderful connection between foreground and background.
- Finer details are applied with a palette knife.- By sprinkling flex adhesive (on the brown area on the left), I can create further beautiful scratches with the steel brush. These scratches communicate with the rest of the picture and thus form a unit.
