Nicole Car from Australia sings „O Dieu! Que de bijoux" from Faust by Gounod in the Semifinal Concert of NEUE STIMMEN 2013. Recorded on October 10, 2013 in Gütersloh, Germany
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the vibrato. The trill needs a little work yet, but altogether she is on the way to becoming a favourite of the public.
Keep that vibrato under control…….a little intrusive in such a young artist! There was a cadenza, where it was allowed to tip the pitch into a more higher one than was required!
I agree , the vibrato is a serious problem , especially ruinous of her top notes . I think she needs to pull back on the top notes not so much volume and a more refined sound . Nicole Car is a beautiful actress who really puts across the character as if speaking the words . I hope someone will take her in hand and iron out the excess vibrato , could it be that she is pushing it too hard . .
She needs better technique! Some off pitch singing. No trill and often strained. Better suited to this than Verdis Leonora in Trovatore. She is no spinto.
