Thank you Mitch. I often check Sweetwater's backlog of videos for reference, even when the products are old. (You can tell by your hair length) So, thank you, and to Mr. Fisher, and all of you making these videos.
And vs Forssell ? the top demo would be to compare with a "basic sound card preamp" (ex : rme or uad or audient or focusrite) with a SM58, rubbon and condenser mic on vocal to offer a complete demonstration to the possibilities of this beautifull preamp. Thanks for your demo Mitch.
Congrats to Mitch, I am German and I can tell that he is one of only a few Americans who pronounces the Name NEUMANN correctly. Noy-maaaaaaann......ah NOT ay and double NN is pronounced faster than only one N. Great job Mitch.
No Transformers, no A/D conversion, no EQ, no Dynamics, where does that price come from? Take a look inside. Audio signals run through ribbon cables… there is absolute emptiness inside the box. The most expensive part must have been the housing. Neumann has become as overhyped as Products with Rupert Neve‘s Signature. I‘ll pass
I have to agree I really like the look of the box (would look great in my rack) but I can’t get past the price with such an anemic feature set. I also totally agree with your statement about Neve I’m a fan of the Nevé sound and own a couple of their products but Neve’s problem has always been that they are drunk with hubris, they actually expect us to empty 24k out our wallets for their 8424 “console” that has No freaking DAW control , is mind boggling stingy with EQs and mic pres ...They want us to show them love, without them being required to love us back...(Naw...I’ll pass). I can get a lot more bang for my 24K elsewhere, and I can get a lot more bang for the buck with other mic pres for the price that Neumann is asking for this one.
Any serious VO artist would say let me purchase a $1000 Mic / $1000 Preamp / $1000 VO Training. A bit too steep in price sure it sounds superb but the again
