Tell you what. The Madiacs, are some of the most crazy, loveable bunches out there, and for everything they were telling me... they were 100% correct!! I just discovered whils I was uploading...this is older, but unreleased? FML, they have tunes like this just kinda...sitting around?!?!
The pigeonhole is 100% real, and if this is any indication as to what's to come...dammit, I may need to follow them around the UK when they come back!

Kanami is maybe most underrated musician of history of music. Only cause She is a woman and She is from Asia. We Western world people should shame ourselves..That lady is friggin genius asxa composer and as a guitarist 🔥❤️

Thank you for reacting to BAND-MAID. Someone might have recommended this already, but you might want to watch the Ohrenje documentaries about BAND-MAID which are very high quality with lots of info about the members and also the way they go about composing their music. Here is the link to his RU-vid channel. www.youtube.com/@Ohrenje The order recommended to watch the series is to start with Saiki then Kanami, Akane, Misa and finally Miku which has 3 parts. If you want to do a reaction to the series, you can without any fear of any copyright issues as many reactors have done so already.

Others have pointed out the Ohrenje documentaries. More specifically, check out the one on Kanami. She's their primary composer. In very broad strokes: She'll generally construct a demo with a keyboard (she's been playing piano since she was a young child, classical background), and then pass it around the band for refinement. The fact that she starts on the keyboard adds some interest to their music, because it kind of avoids fretboard hand habits. She'll write music that she then has to figure out how to be able to play. Akane has complained that sometimes she's written parts that are impossible for a person with only two hands to play.

This song is such an amazing blend of old school and new school BAND-MAID. Love it! 7:33 This. This right here. Their unpredictable nature is just one of the many things that make this band so damn good. Just when you think you know what's coming next, Kanami giggles and says, "Are you sure about that?" Band Maid has a private site, Prime. Costs 1100 Yen/mo, about $7 US. Along with a bunch of material, there are 1 on 1 discussions between band members about their musical interactions. Stuff such as Akane and Saiki taking dance lessons. But not so much to dance, as to get a better feel for what to do with the space between the notes.

As per the opening of Thrill, Kanami doesn't come out of the gate she's - breaking new gate. That gorgeous petite musical genius has more kinetic energy than a fleet of locomotives. What a fcken band Po 👍🍻

Not many groups have ever packed as much musical awesomeness into just 3 minutes. Don’t worry about sounding as if you’re pandering. I think they’re the best band going right now. Others can think differently, which is fine. I also think they’re among the best rock groups ever, so maybe I’m crazy. But, for criteria I think important, like high standard of quality in musicianship, songwriting, and performance, I’d only put some all-time iconic bands alongside them. I honestly don’t see any reason, beyond nostalgia, to think any different, based on listening to rock and metal for over 50 years now.

I was at this show and seeing them in Japan was one of the highlights of my 53 years on this earth. Cant wait to get back to Tokyo sometime next spring as soon as someone/anyone releases some show dates around that time

As mentioned, the Ohrenge documentaries get into their process. But my favorite part which isn't mentioned in those (iirc) is that while Kanami writes the main vocal melody, Miku & Saiki go into the studio (probably with the staff vocals specialist) and record umpteen different vocal tracks and harmony arrangements and then fight it out about which ones to use 😊

Miku is the primary lyricist. You're probably just going to keel over when "Show Them" releases (the collab with The Warning).🤘🤘

The RU-vid Channel Ohrenje is dedicated to Band-Maid and has documentaries on each member. The Kanami documentary goes into detail about their songwriting technique. Lots of reactors have done reactions to the documentaries - they are very well done.

Love the song, super pumped for the new album. Funnily enough, the only slight quibble I have is the chorus. Normally love them but this one isn't really hitting so far for me. Still a fantastic song and love Saiki's energy in this performance. Happy Birthday!

Eric, Happy Belated Birthday! The Maids are all special human beings!!!!! They give the joy of their music to all of us. Now, "Magie" hasn't become an earworm yet. But I'm sure it will be one down the road. I can see "Magie" as the perfect mid-concert song after an extended MC or the ballad portion of their concert. It's the perfect song for getting everyone up and moving again. The only problem is that us old geezers need to be careful not to hurt ourselves if we try to act like teenagers.

Who said life is fair? Certainly not Kanami and Band-Maid! When Saiki says Jump, we Jump! I saw them in 2022 and 2023 and Saiki had this mid sixties guy jumping!

Ain't no band who writes, plays and performs like Band-Maid! While I've watched Magie climb from an initial 6, when I first heard it, to a 7 and now an 8 (taken from a recent survey of my cerebral musical cortex ;-), I always appreciate the execution, sound and, once again, performance of all their songs... even starting with "Made In Japan," released in 2014 when I first became entranced with the Magical Maids. Yeah; you do have to see them live. I saw them at the paradise in Boston, October,2022 and they were awesome. Vladimir Chupin went to many of their shows and posted videos on RU-vid and the whole Boston show is there, broken into individual song videos - you might want to check his stuff out.

I do think that having all those professional song writers in the beginning of their career helped hone their song writing skills and lyricism. You sort of see the similarities in the earlier work come forth sometimes in the Kanami-Miku era. And Miku-chan's lyrical experience has rubbed off on Saiki-san.

Funky-Metal-Pop-Rock....new genre? Nope....just Band-Maid being Band-Maid. LOVE Miku's backing vocals. NEVER try and run with the Pigeon....she has very expensive taste when it comes to guitars.
