Doc the fact is we should stop engaging in high dopamine level activities and start working to mentain a baseline dopamine levels which work for sustained period.. We all know how dopamine works once this dopamine hit is there it is followed by a crash and it depends on how much dopamine was released in previous activity genetics our body response and soo many things.their is no such thing as dopamine detox and low dopamine activity and all.. Precisely Dopamine is not a neurotransmitter rather it is neuromodulator..it modulate this motivation mood moment etc by those pathways we all know... It is essential and we can't detox but we can try to mentain its baseline tonic phasic release and for sustained period and amount of release..we can modulate ourselves if we feel ok we are not enjoying this activity then its a low dopamine activity but we can change that by stop waiting for reward of high dopamine activity.. Rather if we engage in some activity repeatedly and force ourselves that yes this is enjoying and pleasurable then we can change that low dopamine activities to high dopamine activity.. It just that we have to make dopamine during engagement and not before and after...
