Known as the fairy tale castle itself, King Ludwig had this castle built as homage to Richard Wagner. Later, the castle served as inspiration for Walt Disney’s Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland and other Disney theme parks. Today it stands amongst the most visited and visually stunning castles in Europe and the world. Schloss Neuschwanstein is located in Hohenschwangau, near the town of Füssen in southern Bavaria, Germany.
