I’d say that if you apply toners, essences, and serums after washing, the Neutrogena would be a good pick. But if you only wash your face and moisturize after, Clinique would be a better pick.

I’ve used both, neutrogena didn’t do anything negative but didn’t leave much of an impression either; moisture surge did moisturize in a light non greasy way, but it was not enough for my skin.

Intriguing! I had more pilling issues with the Hydro Boost than Moisture Surge. Didn't do a lot of experimentation, though, so I can't make any definitive statements.

I've used up a few sample tubes of the Neutrogena, and it was fine for a few days use, just ok for my mature, drier skin. No breakouts or hives at least. Not as moisturizing as the Hada Labo Skin Plumping Gel Cream, which my skin loves year-round. I haven't tried the Clinique yet, but there are so many things on my wishlist already!

I get hives from Dimethicone, and or ANY derivative of SILICONE. BOTH of these have that ingredient and since listed at top of ingredient list, there's ALOT . 🤮👎

I sometimes feel dry a few hours after my night routine when I’m using retinol. I’ve used the Clinique and love it so I was thinking about supplementing with one of these later in the evening.

Clinique wins for me. Neutrogena hydro boost did my skin badly in the past. Itchy and breaking out. My friends who hype neutrogena got bad skin. I dont know why they keep using it.

I personally like the Clinique more. I think those with very hearty skin could probably get away with the neutrogena, but in the long run Clinique offers much better ingredients that skin will benefit from. The neutrogena really only offers a quick bit of hydration and nothing else.

Hey Sara ! happy new year 💕 , that Neutrogena gel cream used to be my only skincare step routine for so many years 😂 and as u said ,it does nothing rather than an instant hydration boost . which cream wins between those 2 ? NEITHER .. 😂 ... FAB ultra repair moisturizer is 10 times better than the Clinique one and way cheaper , its in a pump not a jar , and contains so many gr8 anti oxidants and brightening ingredients , and it doesnt pill 🥰 another fantastic moisturizer that u shall try is " IUNIK beta glucan cream " .. its gr8 !!

They both are decent moisturizers and it’s great but they don’t have fragrance in them but honestly even though I live in humid climate and I’m more combo to oily these are in enough for me so I just would be using them on my neck or to layer with other creams because it’s just not gonna be enough hydration I need some thing that has more benefits and more Occlusivity to it. Hi Sarah, I know this old Neutrogena version has been discontinued, but I recently purchased a few of this old formula from a reseller and it came without the protective plastic seal inside. I can’t remember if my old Neutrogena had that plastic seal. Did yours? I read online that someone called Neutrogena and they said it’s supposed to come with it but a lot of people who bought it on Amazon said it didn’t come with it. Since I bought from a random seller, I don’t know, I’m a little nervous if the protective seal has been removed. I don’t know if you’ll see this message or have time to respond, but would really appreciate hearing back from you. Thank you so much!

Sarah do you find the clinique moisture surge 72h to be moisturizing enough for your very dry skin? It is an oil free moisturizer so it does not compensate your Skin’s lack of lipids

The Clinique is okay for the summer, but the winter, spring, or fall it isn't enough on it's own. Their newer version (Moisture Surge Intense 72H Lipid-Replenishing Hydrator) has lipids in it and it much more hydrating, which I really like.

@@NOBSBeauty I guess for me because I have super oily skin the 72H hydrator is enough because my skin produces it's own natural lipids, I just have dehydrated skin so my skin lacks water, you have dry skin so your skin lacks lipids, water alone is not enough for your skin, you need lipids too and the hydrator is oil free so the lipid replenishing is a much better fit for your skin type

The silybum Marianum extract may actually help those with acne prone skin cause it helps prevent sebum oxidation and the inflammation caused by it which leads to acne. Clinique says that their testing proves it works non stop for 72 hours even after washing your face and that it instantly improves hydration by 146%. They say that using activated aloe water and caffeine helps trigger skin's own rehydration system, so i guess that is the purpose of the caffeine, it provides some sort fo stimulation, it is also anti inflammatory and an antioxidant

My daughter has beautiful skin, she's been using skincare since she was 13, she's now 20 but honestly she had never had breakouts before and startred breaking out lately. She started using hydro boost and her skin looks so good. Oh and she tends to flake from nose area and she's seen results with neutrogena but again she's only 20.
