I hate the difference jumpshot speeds because it’s completely randomly. You can take the same shot yet the speed is different each time you take the same shot. So your basically guessing the timing everytime

Bro… I’m so glad you said something about animations… Nobody is talking about this because they are so used to badges and “that’s just how it is”… This stuff is so annoying that I can’t do regular dribble moves and create space without an animation taken over. I haven’t played in a few years, so I was expecting regular 2K physical gameplay instead of cross(wait on animation to finish) regroup, try to do a crossover(animation, Defensive animation) regroup, repeat💀🤡😒 I’m pretty sure they’re doing this because they want people to A. Use their little badges that they are coming up with every other year. B. Buy a bunch of VC so they can make their player better. C. Realize that their player sucks and create another one, spend more VC trying to get the correct build and repeat. Seems to me it’s all financial ! And people don’t even realize that’s one of the reasons why the game sucks and everybody left, they think the game is just bad, but they don’t realize it’s actually the freaking animations killing the game 😒 GoodLuck & Subscribed🤙🏾 you pay attention to detail & I appreciate that!
Ppl don’t understand playing they roles. 2k had a tendency of putting you out of your original position. Instead of complaining about not being at the PG position, just play your role as the secondary. Same if there are 2 centers.
Man the moment my brothers say their done playing 2k so i am 2k23 by far is one of the worse 2k experiences in history ever since 2k17 everyone went for the most broken build that requires 0 skill and 100% guaranteed to cheat the game but at least when 2k17 did it there was actual balance, you didnt have centers that could dribble and shoot like guards yet somehow still have real point guard like speed with the body of a center,everyone plays the same there’s no more uniqueness to the game and everyone think they’re good because they just copy a build they see everyone else with and don’t get me started on how the shooting hurts the game terribly your basically gambling on the shot meter giving you the same timing every open shot,then you have the paint defense being nerfed,badges pretty much become useless with the buffed takeover,speaking of takeover i love how takeover can practically be earned with 3-4 shots then you have badges which can make it last longer and even easier to gain this game so far has been a let down
I love this video. 2k don't look at it from the perspective of the average player. It shouldn't take so much time away from real life just to get valid rewards. I'm convinced 2k just don't care.
I get what you're saying. Feeling like you don't have a social life (interacting with people in real life). That's why I now play 2K just for MyLeague and do a career with my CAC.
i work a 9-5 and play 2k after work sometimes. Idk how the hell people are hitting level 40 within days of the new season. Competing against people whos life revolves around 2k. Its like every other game. They try and force you to spend money in order to compete against players who are also spending money, if you dont then youre going to be behind.
The whole game is jus inconsistent.From shooting to dribbling to defense to finishing.To the court designs.To the rewards.To the rep system.It’s all jus a cluster fuck.

Man this rant was so damn good !! I’m sharing with anyone who plays 2k ! They robbing us they prey on people love of the game ! Here we are with a interior defense buff and making a layup now is like you need a phd in making layups to even make them consistently.. Big men don’t contest and stand under rim and they affect your shot so much now .. I don’t mind buffing the defense but it’s a bit too much the animations are actual fouls that don’t get called
Once again another great rant. I unfortunately don’t have my 2 cents to put on this topic as I don’t play REC cuz like you said I don’t have all the time in the world. I’m 21 work and have school (I’m taking this semester off so I’ll have more time but I might get another job for more money) and I’m not tryna hop into park or the rec at a 76 overall and the ball never touches my hands because people will assume I’m trash like they need to ease the grind but they won’t because they want people to buy VC. If I WAS a 99 ovr I don’t even see myself grinding for the level 40 just because of how toxic the 2K community is like you said and I don’t have a dedicated squad for it. Like I just enjoy mycareer and play now online. I feel like you need actual basketball IQ for play now online since you have to play with your bench and everyone isn’t a 99 overall.
I play pg and I like creating plays for my team and some times these randoms get mad because I don’t pass the ball to them right away even though they aren’t always open. They want every inbound to be a fast break and they just run their mouth or not play defense. But when I get a team that let me run plays we always win

People need to play there roles for real. I’m a point guard and I’ll get one pass intercepted and I won’t get the ball on any inbound going forward like I don’t have the highest pass accuracy. I can’t stand people that don’t play they roles

I feel you man Shooting fouls rarely get called you can jump in to a player completely knock them down and continue play like nothing happened guys step out of bounds no call there feet clearly be on the line either they will no call it or give you a blocking foul the game doesn't understand the difference between a charge and a blocking foul then the game makes a lot of mistakes you get the ball blocked or tipped clearly you should get the ball back right? Wrong 2k gives the other team the ball when they clearly touched it last its like playing jail ball there's not structure what so ever

Oh bro, You just noticing about the whole " ANIMATION BASED " Game ?!?!?!? It's literally been about "ANIMATIONS" Since the introduced online which 2014 lol. The one's who say its "SKILL BASED" are the ones who think this game is LIFE lol. Streamers know, Content Creators know, Celebrities know this game is sorely based on ANIMATIONS there is no SKILL required to play this game besides the way you dribble but even that causes animations like defenders getting stunned or a random ankle breaker happens where you can't even pull your player out of things like that. The game is stupid always has been, And this is coming from a person who used to dedicate a lot of time into this game. 16 - Elite 1 17 - Elite 2 18 - 98 OVR 19 - 99 OVR 20 - Legend 21 - Elite 2 22 - Legend 23 (Current Game) - Don't even care anymore.
This is why I haven't spent a dime on this game since season 2. I'm team no VC no boost. Hit 2K where it hurts and they will improve the gameplay for 2k24. The other shit that pisses me off is the lack of transparency with core badges. I have yet to core so many badges on my day 1 build. Limitless takeoff is my biggest pet peeve. I have 93 driving dunk limitless takeoff on gold, but I can't even core bronze and I have equipped all the proper animations. Man this game can be frustrating.
yea idk how but i need limitless take off cored too IDK why the progression for it moves so slow I can't even core it bronze yet and I'm not about to spend 10,000 hrs on the game for one core badge. Ridiculous
It's sad because people spend so much time on this game just for the servers to shutdown 2 years later that's why I don't spend much time on 2k because it feels pointless. I do like playing online sometimes but it's not worth spending our precious time to grind.
I just wanted to add in another thing about randoms and rec when the legend grind also requires you make 100,000 points it pretty much killed team ball as a whole
I think they should keep the different jumpshot systems to where it’s actually good or decent. Because im 7’2 with a max wingspan 78 3pt, i can hit mine it’s just sometimes inconsistent even i’ll shoot the same and it’s early… and also making whites should be a thing but not as OP in 22 hof sniper was broken
Very well said, I am that guy that you are speaking off that does not have the time. I am married with 3 kids, work full time, coach my kids activities or is at everyone of them. I get an hour or maybe two a night to play once, I get the kids to bed, have some time with the wife, and when everyone is finally sleeping I can jump. I play 100% career, do my practice play a season game, jump to the rec for one or two games and then I am off. I have been trying to find other players in the same boat. It would be nice to mic up and talked to other like minded people while playing. I like to contribute as best I can, I am not the strongest shooter, so been working on my defence and setting up the team.. either with assists or assists by screen (Not a Stat).
ur probably screwed man. I’m sort of in the same situation and it’s nearly impossible to get a crew together when your time is limited. I think myteam or play now is better for me nowadays
I think they put in the different jump shot timings is because people were using modded controllers completely cheating cuz that’s why they took out shot aiming which I enjoyed.
I wasn't able to get level 40 for season 3 to get the double core badge thing bc I had work and got into a car accident during delivery for work and was resting and I only got to level 36 and lowkey was like dang now I don't get it ever again

I don't care about buying another 2k ever. After buying the game for $70, why do i need to spend $150 to level every character I wanna try? I shouldn't have to pay a single cent just to spend attributes i earned in a $70 game. This shit is ridiculous and will never stop. I'm done handing over money i could use on better shit to build characters, especially in a full priced game. I could justify like $5 in a FREE game for character builds. 2k is the greediest franchise in gaming.

Ive been playing 2K for over 20 yrs....... I make decent money so last few yrs id buy the game then I'd put like an extra $20 to skip some of the grind......(im apart lf the problem... You think post scorers or bigs are happy with the up and understand this year? They damn near took it completely away you do posthop or fake a fade and try and go up with a layin and 3 feet away from the rim you a jump shot lay up instead of an up and under layup last year it was nice but this year y’all make it a meter animation for getting my guy off his feet and out of the way of the rim and I still gotta work to make the open layup which ain’t even a layup it be a effing moving towards the rim jumper
I think it's because of the court vision. I play on 2K so I can see the ENTIRE court. But when I play against computer or whatever, I play on broadcast (side view) For the level of immersion and whatnot.

Havn't touched any NBA game since the OG xbox. They are just bad. Any sports game in general is a bad experience. I rather be on the court myself shooting hoops.
They kinda don't tbh. That might be a new build he's playing with and 2K doesn't separate the averages. They're all under one player combined into one big average. So you can't really look too far into it.
Shit can be deceiving bro, I love to pass and if allowed to play my role and with cooperation from teammates I can easily average 10a a game. Problems come in when the sg or sf want to push the point and niggas skipping over me on the inbound. Then I have to change my role.
Obviously this was done before the patch. But the way you get steals is dumb STILL. Being held and locked into a animation that grants a user a steal. Versus just using great positioning and timing. Nothing will change my mind on that.
@Dre2k YT Doesn't matter, I was playing 2K10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 a few nights ago. When I went in for a steal, it was singular animation that had perfect timing and placement which resulted in me knocking the ball out his hand. Of course if the rating said so as well. But 2K23 has gotten to the point now of having 2 man animations that you can't even break out of and are forced to watch 90 percent of the time. I've seen animations that I'm already in the middle of get altered and put into a 2 man animation that gave him a steal. It didn't matter what I was doing, whether I was protecting the ball or not. Wasn't even doing dribble moves either.
@Dre2k YT As for matching up, I don't really care for 2K at the moment. Probably gonna start running a season with sim sliders. Also, the boxing game Undisputed drops tomorrow so I'm prepping for that. Also gonna be livestreaming when that comes out.
