Yes sir for sure could have used that method today. We just finished up three loads today so I’m currently caught up on hauling time to get back to splitting. Take care, Ben.

Awesome splitter. l rented one for what was supposed to be a 5-6 hour job splitting the worst gnarly knotted pine. Done in just over 2 hours. Some pieces were up to 26" wide, mostly 18inches long. Those were around 100 lbs. It went through them like they almost weren't there. Split-fire. A CANADIAN company.

When I saw you grab your splitter, I didn't think you were going to use it that way. That was pretty smart. Thanks for making these videos. They are entertaining to watch. I'm looking forward for the next one.

Thanks I have been trying to split most everything as I go but I can’t keep up with my chainsaw guy lol. I was afraid someone would help there self or the tree service would bury my rounds with chips or something. Thanks take care, Ben.

Hey Ben, How do you like your Split-Fire? I'm looking to upgrade in the future and this machine looks very good and it's in my price range. I split 6 - 10 cords per year and I would like a lift, good speed, and reliability. Good idea on using the log splitter lift to load your truck! Have a great day! Tom
@OGAOutdoors
@OGAOutdoors Год назад
Tom I love the thing mine does great. The 2265 does reach its limit about 2’ diameter. I will say the log lifter does leak down when not in use so you have to start it up before you move it around. 6-10 cords won’t take long especially in good wood. Let me know if you have any other questions the guys at split fire are great to deal with. Take care, Ben.

Hey OGA, I love the video-- a lot of good ideas, Thanks. I'm wondering if you think the 18 ton Splitfire is all you need power wise? I'm on the fence between the machine youre working, and the next size up 20-22 ton (3265). Locust and Hickory are about the toughest wood I've split and it seemed you were cooking through them no problem. But I also didn't see too many knots in there either. Any point of view on the 18 ton vs. the 20-22 ton? Thanks so much.
@OGAOutdoors
@OGAOutdoors 2 года назад
Miles I guess bigger is always better lol. I’m just doing about 20 cords per year so the 2265 currently works for me. That said I do have to finesse big rounds knots etc. I don’t expect to split everything, I get what I can off the tough stuff and leave the rest for the customers wanting the bigger pieces or it goes to the burn pile. I don’t produce a lot of waste either with the 2265. The benefit of the bigger machine would be the knife size I’m guessing it will be taller? All this said it just depends on what you want to split and how much. Hopefully this helps let me know what you decide on and if you have any other questions. Take care, Ben.

@@OGAOutdoors Thanks Ben. I called the company today and they said if you're splitting rounds bigger than 24" on a regular basis go with the 3000 series; otherwise the 2265 should split most stuff, with, as you said, finesse of the larger rounds. I appreciate the videos.
