No one has EVER been this detailed it absolutely appreciated and needed, finally someone recorded from above to ACTUALLY see what our hand placement should be. I get so frustrated with not having the security in my form to FOCUS on the execution of the move and normally just uncomfortable and to weak to lift.

100% thank you. I have ‘golfers elbow’ and thought pushups were impossible to do since it hurts my elbow like a rubber band is going to snap. But when you said to keep your hands flat and don’t rock out (a previous video), I noticed I did that. I corrected it yesterday and experienced zero pain in my elbow. 👍

I worked up on some pushup challenge until could do 3 sets of 100. Then about 3-4 months after the challenge (with daily pushups) my shoulders got an injury. I changed my form and I can do less but I am less interested in the count now. This all seems like great advice. I was doing the T-form she said at the beginning of the video. It took about 6-7 months but inevitably I got an injury.

I wasn't able to do a push-up for the past 20 years. I knew that I had my form correct when everything hurt like hell for the first time! 🤣 happily to say after a few days of of planking and 45° back extensions, I was able to bust out ten by the end of that first week.🏆💯 now (3 months later) I can crank out at least 30, but it still hurts like hell! hopefully by next year I can be at 100.

Very detailed video Cori. I realised that I had been rocking my hands a bit. Is this the reason why I don't feel much tension on my chest? I feel it more on my triceps and shoulders. And do we need to stop just before our chest touches the ground or slightly touch the ground? What would be the most efficient full range of motion in this case?

I do not have a problem with proper form. Except for my right arm. I have an old, very serious tennis elbow injury so that I can't straighten my arm - it gets about 25 degrees from straight. And it causes problems with general shoulder and arm strength exercises. So I have to look for a comfortable way to do pushups. Also, I find it better to do pushups before doing heavy barbell work.

Thanks for this helpful video. I have poor upper body strength, always have, and can't do a full push up. I prefer to do them on my toes rather than a modified push up (on knees) because I feel like I get a better workout that way. I can get multiple reps, but I only have the strength to go a few inches, not anywhere near as low as you. Is it better to do what I'm doing and keep working at it that way and building strength or would I be better off doing a modified push up and going down farther? Hope that made sense. It doesn't matter to me how I do them, I just want to get the biggest bang for my buck, the best workout in the least amount of time.
@KatarinaS.
@KatarinaS. 4 года назад
Also, can push ups be done daily? Maybe I'd get stronger faster and better at doing them if I did a set daily. Do you have or would you be willing to make a video of which types of exercises can be done daily and which should be done every other day or perhaps even less than that?
@loonytoons8130
@loonytoons8130 4 года назад
Not the person you asked but whether you should do an exercise daily depends on the intensity of the exercise. If at the next day of doing the exercise to your limit, your involved muscles feels sore then you shouldn't do it daily. If they feel completely normal then feel free to do it daily.

Great advice; however, you use the term "engage" multiple times without explaining it. Do you mean a slight contraction, a conscious recognition of the antagonists throughout the ROM, or a mind-muscle connection/recognition? Not wanting to sound too picky, but contraction functions and mechanics are complicated.
