It would be almost impossible to cut out all these foods. I'm vegetarian and my wife is vegan. I rely a lot on milk and dairy products for calcium and protein. It's a struggle for my wife to get adequate protein. Nuts, legumes, yes, they're staples then we get to fruit and vegetables. It wasn't mentioned that most green leafy vegetables are constantly being sprayed commercially. I grow a lot of my own fruit and veggies, so I see this ( though i put up with lower yield, imperfections etc and never use sprays on crops ) but in spite of this I buy grapes, pineapples, and other fruits. We get so much conflicting advice, and a lot of dodgy facts from the meat and dairy industry. My advice is to avoid stress ( linked to cancer and heart problems) by eating a varied wholefood diet. Avoid red meat, cut down on alcohol, enjoy your life, and most importantly NEVER smoke. It's not cool. Especiallyl when you're being cremated

Is it OK to have a small amount of sugar at least once a week? Are we supposed to get rid of it completely?

Walnuts and pumpkin seeds are good for you, oh just a minute they contain phytic acid which reduces nutrient absorption. Spinach is good for you as it contains iron, oh but it contains oxylates which damage the kidneys and you can't drink tea at the same time because it contains tannins which stop iron absorption, and so on and so forth- you get the picture don't you.
