I know where I was on 9-11, i also know where i was for the taking of cuba by Castro-the Cuban middle crisis-the Kennedy killing (both of them)-MLK getting killed-Malcolm X being killed-medgar Evers being gunned down-Kent state & Rodney king being half beat to death…i felt just as bad for those “events” as commissioner Reagan did for 9-11.

THAT is why I like Selleck so much as an actor. Though to be honest I don't know if that WAS acting, or if he was as emotional as he appeared. I expect most Americans can't talk about that day without getting a little choked up.

*He meant every word he said here! Why? Upon receiving a draft notice during the Vietnam War, Selleck joined the California National Guard. He served in the 160th Infantry Regiment of the California Army National Guard from 1967 to 1973. ❤❤❤ SO YES, HE IS ALSO A VETERAN!* ❤❤❤

Even I as a none-American remember that day clear as day. 2001 I was 21 years old, I was at a friends house, we saw it on the news, I remember calling my mother and she had just seen it her self. That's just something you never will forget. I had the pleasure to visit New York back in 2017 (september) and I visit ground Zero and the museum. Walking around in the museum was so unreal, seeing all the stuff there was heart wrenching.

From that time forward life nor my career in the military remained the same and now we are quickly approaching the 20th anniversary....how time flies by and yet it still feels like yesterday! 9-11-01 changed my life forever and I will never forget those who responded, volunteered and who gave their lives.

There is a video on RU-vid, I believe uploaded by the Blue Bloods channel, about how the Prod Co leaders considered the possibility of doing this Episode, and whether or not they would even be allowed by the Ground Zero Commission to even film the ending scene at Ground Zero. They asked, and got the OK. I think we can all thank LG, Tom Selleck, the writers, production people and cast, for such a solemn Episode. Their reputation, the draw that they have watching (the 14.5 million who watch every Friday, just in the USA), and the tremendous respect from most people for the series, is probably what did the trick. And the people of Blue Bloods did not disrespect that hallowed place at all, nor disappoint the Commission.. In fact, IMHO, I think they added to its place in our consciousness.

33 years old I was 16 years old in high school and I seen a bunch of classmates running into the biggest tv we had which was in the library I thought when a plane hit the towers I thought it was a Cessna you know a small plane at first but unfortunately that was not the case I asked what’s going on to a friend and he responded we’re going to war. I watched it all, from the planes hitting to the poor souls jumping out to spare them from burning to death, the buildings falling. I knew our lives would not be the same. I also promised myself to serve and hope it would be enough that you never have to witness that again.

I was in kindergarten and everyone was being pulled from school left and right without any idea of what was going on. A plane fell 90 miles from where I was and we had no idea what was going on. I remember when I was about 12 and we watched footage in middle school. I finally understood the weight of what happened. More recently, I realized what my parents must've felt having two children 5 and under. I can't imagine what I'd do if I ever came to live through a tragedy like this as an adult. I'm thankful I was just a child.

On September 11, 2001 I was seated at my desk at work. In Fleet Communications answering calls, sending out pickup and drop off addresses. I had a small TV on and the sound turned down low, when they broke into normal broadcasting and showed the first plane fly into the towers. I was in shock, then within a short amount of time they showed film of the second plane and the other tower. They played a recording of calls into 911 from varying parts of the business district near the towers. I immediately alerted the Department Head and the Managing Director. Before news of the Pentagon hit and the crash in the field we were put on alert from the Transportation Authority. They believed that the entire U.S.A. could conceivably be at risk. We secured passengers and brought buses in off the streets and had specialist from Law Enforcement along with mechanics checking every single vehicle in our Fleet. Being in the Business of Public Transportation I had seen a lot of violence since I began my tenure in 1994, drivers assaulted by drunk or drugged up passengers. Cars and or trucks crashing into a Bus at a Bus Stop. On this day I don't think I ever really considered my job or our industry as a terrorist target. My innocence was gone. I did not know anyone from New York, I never met or spoke to anyone from there. But I sat at my desk later and had tears streaming down my cheeks. On my lunch I went out and set in my car and called the daycare where my 3 year old child was, I asked the director to bring my child to the phone, a little voice said "hi Mommy" and I sucked back a shaking breath and said " I love you, Sunshine". Later that day after working a full twelve hours to make sure all the reports and details were in the right hands, I was allowed, by the grace of God to drive home to my little family, all I could think about for months after that were how many families lost loved ones that horrific day, and how blessed I am. Today I don' t work at that job, I have another job in a different transportation business, and everyday I work and I come home and tell my now 20 year old child " I love you, Sunshine" how was your day at classes or how was your day at work, I don't take much for granted anymore, and nothing means more to me than talking with my child, because I know that you never really know when things could become a living nightmare. God Bless all those who ran toward the danger that day. And Thank you God for each and everyday I get to spend with my child.

What a touching and moving episode. Each and every time I watch this scene from Blue Bloods, it brings me to a moving speech about the sacrifices and about the dark day of 9/11, as well as that moving speech about the dead hero who Frank knew very well. And also, for me, I was born a year and 2 months before 9/11 even happened in September of 2001, and not only that, but I was born and raised in a city here in America called, Sacramento California, and well, we have something here called Cal Expo, where we have a lot going on each and every year, like this year back in May, we had something called, the Sacramento County Fair, and as of right now, it’s the State Fair, and each and every year, from November to January of the following year, we have another thing called, the Winter Wonderland, and at Cal Expo here in Sacramento, we have our own memorial of 9/11, as we have a small thing called, the September 11th Memorial Plaza, and I never get bored or tired of going there, as you can always learn, or even relearn about the horrible and dark and tragic day of 9/11 from September of 2001. So if anyone here comes to Sacramento California, and if you would maybe want to go, you can always ask me about it, and I can look into going with you, or even taking you to the 9/11 Memorial Plaza.

It’s so weird being at Ground Zero. Not weird in the conventional sense, but weird in the sense of location. Here you are, in one of the busiest cities on the planet, and it’s quiet. Outside the gate is the sound of the city, and inside, whether by design, or luck, all you hear are your own thoughts. I’ve been there once, it took everything to not cry. I was teary eyed of course, but holy cow, the silence there is probably the loudest sound in NYC.

I'm watching this again, five days after the twentieth anniversary. I was ten years old, in my fifth grade classroom in Seminole, Florida that day. When I heard that President Bush was coming to our state, I was naive enough to think my classmates and I would be able to wave at the motorcade, as it passed by. My teacher was settling in to read two chapters from a Judy Blume book to us, which she'd been doing every day for the past week. Suddenly, her assistant burst in with an all-business expression on her face. Without a word, she turned on the small TV in an upper corner of the room, and we watched the first of what would become countless instant-replays of the South Tower, getting hit. We thought it was some kind of an action movie, a "Die Hard" type of deal, and a couple of the boys in the class made "Whoo" noises at the explosions. But then, our parents started coming early to pick us up, and we realized that it was much more serious. Every time I see footage of the attacks, I become that little girl again. It hits even stronger for my mom, as a native New Yorker. Two of my cousins lost a friend in the collapses. When one of them visited Ground Zero, the smell made him throw up, and a nearby firefighter walked up and put his arm around him. (9/16/2021)

"Why them, and not me?" They keep track of the number of military who commit suicide; is anyone keeping track of the First Responders who have paid the Ultimate Sacrifice for the work they did at Ground Zero? Surely, as they bury, one by one, their colleagues who suddenly come down with lung cancer, or other terminal maladies, the other First Responders must be wondering the same thing, and have asked themselves the same question, perhaps more than once. There but for the Grace of God ...

Mathlover15 I'm not exactly sure how, since I've never done that before. But I can tell you how to find it. Go to fanfiction.net. Find the "t. v. shows" section. Click on the letter "b", & then click on "Blue Bloods". The story is called "Have You Forgotten?".
