Hi Kurt, the number 16 stamped in the Ring is a silver Hallmark and probably came from Europe. Between 1884 and 1888 a law was introduce in Europe to make it easier to identify the silver or gold percentages. In Europe both gold and silver would have a 3 digit number stamp, for example, sterling silver would be stamped with 925 or higher indicating 925 parts out of a thousand, or simply .925 which is 92.5 % silver content. Even before 1888 Silver items created in Europe had to have a silver Hallmark. For hundreds of years silver content used to be depicted in (Lot or Loth which was a weight measurement) with silver it was usually measured in Lot generaly from Lot 11 to Lot 16, in other words Lot 11 would indicate 11 Parts out of 16 is 11 parts silver to 5 parts copper. So your ring with the number 16 would probably date from the early to middle 1800 hundreds and is almost pure silver.
Some good finds! I was in Venice, Fl diving in the Ocean when I came up after a dive and got my notification that u uploaded a video! I was like yay! Something to watch for my 1st workout when I get back home! Lol. Those Indians would have gotten me excited here coz that's the same time frame as tags! There's gotta be some Carlos there! Good Vidayoo!
Hey guys, I watch all of your shows and I recently got permission to swing over a lot that is on the corner from the local high school. You can imagine the milk money that has been dropped over the years. The lady that owns the lot told me her father sold the land for the high school back in 1959. We all know change was still being carried and as far as she knows was built on this wooded lot that is partially cleared. There is a barn on it and a house on the lot adjacent, but not on the corner lot that I have permission for
Great windy hunt there. It's funny your not so old finds IHPs and Wheaties is my old finds where I live. You and Muck did a great job. Love all the Relics, Buttons, and Coins. Take Care Kurt and Muck
Hey guys. I have enjoyed watching your videos for over a year now. I inherited my uncle's White's metal detector a few years ago. It's now one of my favorite hobbies. I come from a long line of gold prospectors. Dredging, sluceing and panning. Treasure hunting gets me excited.
We live with 30 to 40 mph winds all the time on the Gulf Coast of South Texas. We get a little reprieve in the winter after a northern blows through, then it’s right back to blowing. Our little seaside town is known for the wind blown live oak trees.
Still, it was an amazing day finding all those items in a field you've hit before. Somebody else opined that the ring might be white gold. I understand that they make white gold by overlaying regular gold with rhodium to give it that silvery sheen. I'll keep my fingers crossed. thanks!
I play your videos at lunch time and people hear the beep beep beep and wonder what I'm watching! You found a lot of Indians today. Too bad none of them was a 77 Thanks for sharing your adventure. 👍👍
Hey curt (if that's how you spell your name)? Got a little tip for you, take a small magnet, a fridge one will do, and put it in your pocket. Now, if you think you've found gold, see if the magnet sticks to the object (ring) if it's gold, the magnet won't stick to it! Quick and easy test 😁 hi from me in Australia ❤️
Its not windy! Say Blustery! Out! I think you said wind 44 times! Hah! With so many Indians, on a windy day, call them Windians!!!!!!Marvin in Boise Idaho!
I had appointments all day, I couldn’t wait to get some Hoover Boys. Detecting is like pizza. Some is better than others but there’s no bad pizza- I hope this helps
Amazing video as always!! How do you like the legend? I have the garrett apex, and im looking to upgrade. Ive been looking into the legend and it seems to be a great machine.
DARN. Just two more Indians and you and Muck could have sung the Nursery Rhyme '10 Little Indians' Remember that one? "One Little Two Little Three Little Indians".. etc, etc 😂
To avoid the traffic noise and curious intruders... NIGHTHAWK IT ! I admit to it on permission spots as so many people just gotta know "what are you doing" I'll be nice and say, "My wife, she's here somewhere..." and start a HOLE. Go full Bradman in blk clothes, pointed ears, cape, and all... really. He told me too, rearree he did.
Holy smokes Kurt, you whine more than my wife. LOL 🤪 JK. I think the one irritation that gets to me while detecting is barking dogs. You guys killed it on the coins. You dug a whole tribe. 👍 It’s good that you show the junk that was dug up too so people realize how many signals you have to dig to get some keepers. Thanks for the video.
