@izza4787 for it to replace unwanted labor, there would have to be functional robots than can do said labor. using AI digitally, obviously is a much easier and faster process than it taking over real life physical things. AI music still sucks so we're good for now, but who actually would wanna listen to a song thats been made entirely by AI? gross
if this scares anyone, or you want to throw out the idea of even using any AI- consider that technology/computers/robots have always been a threat to artists- and an artists job has ALWAYS been to rise above obstacles not cry about them, cower from them, or try to destroy them. we destroy them by the power of our art, not complaining and setting rules. we are artists because we break rules, and demolish any attempts the world throws at us through how powerful our art is.
it's a sample and idea generator. adapt or die. we just added a 70s psych guitar solo to a friend's song and it sounds insane. used UVR to extract the stems. added some fx, tweaked it a little, worked it the same way you would use any other sample. I've been a hater on AI from a video work standpoint but stuff like this is making me rethink it has the potential to be a crazy useful tool that we might as well learn to wrangle before it eats us for lunch. session players might be scared though, having your own sauce is gonna be more important than ever.
I'm using this now on a track I've been trying ot finish up and it took my song to some crazy new levels ... Now I just have to figure out how to make sounds that are similar to what the AI made ...
Was thinking of using suno to help polish my years of unfinished tracks. A lot of my songs I had started and had nowhere to go to make them sound less like a demo and more like a finished song. I think it has its limits but for vip ideas and writers block I see the value

I love this video! I totally relate with all of the concerns with AI and its questionable training but I've also been one to embrace new technology and tools and to try and use them in weird ways to get unexpected results so I totally relate with the sentiment of getting usable Happy accidents with Ai. And I also agree that this is also just an evolution of how electronic music started in the first place. As for the training data issue. I do think it is lame that people's producer tags are showing up in other peoples' generated results. Or that sometimes I'll randomly get a vocal that sounds almost identical to Snoop Dog or some other big artist. But here's the thing. Just don;t use those ones ones. unfortunately many people wil though. As well as many people will just generate a song, do nothing with it and then call it there's. So for me that's the problem. I personally think it's silly to throw shade at anyone who use Ai without actually looking at HOW they are using it. And the way Floss is using these tools is exactly the way that I think that they should be used. not exploiting it but just using it for new ideas, happy accidents, keeping in the flow state, etc. Also great analogy on the Serato thing! I clearly remember the haters when Stanton Final Scratch came out and then serato.
You’re just taking other people’s work and showcasing it as your own by using the current state of music AI. It’s not generative or new, so far it’s only shown to be derivative. Every demo is really just some sorry bastard’s song that got stolen by greedy companies. And also Suno / Udio are currently getting sued by the major record labels as we speak for this.

Someone has never heard of plate trading or sample ripping. Dj's/producers been stealing sounds from each other and other artists since the creation of dub in the 70's
Just stop caring about what other people are doing honestly, comparison kills creativity just as much as instant gratification kills passion. AI is unsurprising in a society that generationally failed the marshmallow test time and time again. Have fun killing your own creativity for a transactional version of “success” that will feel empty and hollow because you didn’t have to sacrifice/work for it. I dont like AI too but anyways music production is about the taste, your taste may be super specific and you may want to alter every note or every milisecond of a sound. in the end making art is just about expressing what you feel/like. Its about enjoying the process. For me, most of music is so blank already even when people make it, so it doesnt matter. My tip would be to seek how to connect with people more. People wont stop listening to music, so i would just recommend to grab their attention. anyways thats what marketing already do, so its not about the song for most people. life is absurd so just enjoy it.
The printing press didn't kill writing books. You're still going to have to put in the effort and make good music. The AI is just a tool to be used. Danny literally said himself the AI can't recreate a sound as good as he can but it could help in the production process. Actually LISTEN to what they're saying before you comment

It is my opinion that if Ai is pulling ideas exclusively from an algorithm that has been curated by human minds then it will always be playing catch up. - Also this is not really “artificial intelligence” if it cannot produce something by itself. it would be leaning into a sentient being that would have its own opinions rather than pulling DATA from again, an algorithm created off the efforts of human creation. - “Ai” is starting to feel like another major gimmick similar to the crypto buzz of the early 2020s… crypto was supposedly going to change the world… where is it now 😂
